I forgot the challenges of a new puppy, since my older guy is 13. The beginning was a tough adjustment and our family needed help fast. After calling referrals from my sphere, I was still at a dead-end and a week later. I tried Thumbtack and Natasha was nearly instant in her response-- even quicker to meet us and assess the situation in comparison to the other respondents. After meeting Natasha I knew I didn't need to look further and she would be the perfect fit! Although she walked our guy for a week she carefully introduced him to Andre who would take over our daily walks. Natasha wasn't going to get off that easy though. We had a trip come up and our pup needed a sitter. Unfortunately, he was still due a set of shots, so interactions with other dogs had to be limited. Of course, Natasha came to the rescue. With daily photos, continued walks and lots of love, our little guy couldn't have been happier. Now that we're back to just the walks, Andre is just as great as Natasha. He's kind, gentle, and you can tell, really cares for the dogs on his route. I couldn't have asked for a better compliment to Natasha. After every walk we get a report of their route, dog's behavior and a few photos. If you're looking for a 5-star full-service pet company (because they do so much more than walking dogs), please reach out to Walk with Renzo and Ruby Inc. They're the best!

Vicky was great! She not only took great care with all of our animals, she handled my anxiety well! We received photos and notes every day with updates of the animals and how they were doing. I told her not to worry about one of my super shy cats because if she tried to find her, it would stress her out more than just being left alone...well, the first day I get a picture of that cat just chillin with Vicky! When we came home we were greeted with an, "Oh...it's you. You're back" bored look from the animals...that was GREAT! I knew she kept them so happy they were not pining away for us or stressed out. I had used another pet sitter for seven years due to convenience, but the animals seemed stressed when we returned. With Vicky, everything was great.

I cannot recommend Stephanie highly enough. We hired Stephanie to look after our 1 year old cat for a two week period and a one week period over the past couple months and both times Stephanie did an excellent job. She checked in on our cat every day, spent time with him and sent us updates. Most recently, we ran out of wet food for our cat and she ended up bringing that exact same brand with her, which was very generous. She watered plants, and looked after our home very very well. In addition, she's a very friendly person and genuinely cares about the animals she's caring for. If you need a pet sitter, look no further! We surely haven't. : )

I am a life long dog owner. I have tried different businesses for grooming but I was looking for something different and something better for our current dog. Luca is our great Pyrenees - mix, rescue. He is an amazing dog but with his "guard dog" nature, he reacts when faced with dogs he is not familiar with. This trait meant we could not send him to the grooming options offered in the local pet stores. I found "Happy Paws" through "Thumb Tack" during a google search. I did not have to wait before I heard from Happy Paws. From the first contact, through my entire experience, I was communicating with the owner and then the groomer. Happy Paws has impressed me, as their years caring for animals has grown and developed into an amazing well executed business. They do not leave any stone un-turned. They have thought of everything. Every improvement and upgrade they have made, over the years, stems from the their interaction with their clients and the animals. Our first visit included a visit from the owner, Angela, and the groomer, Reena, who have worked together for years. Angela took the time to make sure I was comfortable with our first experience. I truly enjoyed her visit. She is very easy to talk with and so good at listening to all my question and/or concerns. As for the grooming experience, it deserves 5 stars as well. Luca is 76 lbs so I was so curious how the groomer would be able to bath and trim such a large dog - one who doesn't like water/baths. However, nothing fazed Reena. She handled Luca with confidence and as a result Luca had less anxiety because he knew he was being cared for and that Reena could and did handle him with great care. There is so much more I can share about our positive experience. But I will end with the fact that Luca looks beautiful and we cannot get enough of his soft fur and gorgeous looks! I am so grateful to Happy Paws and I HIGHLY recommend Happy Paws to every dog owner!!

So happy we chose Gerard to watch our cat! We have only had her a week and a half and he had great advice for her as well. We knew she was in good hands while we were gone and we could tell she'd been taken care of once we returned. Gerard gave daily updates and pictures which we really appreciated! He knew how our cat wanted to play and be spoiled and he met her needs perfectly. Would highly recommend Gerard if anyone else needs a cat sitter.

I returned to my home in Virginia after having been out West for a few years, caring for my parents. Upon my return, I learned that my closest friend had just weeks to live. She wanted me to be with her. At the same time, my little 18 month old dog was not well. We still didn't know exactly what was wrong, but with increasing frequency, she had severe bleeding out of both ends! It turned out to be a serious autoimmune disorder, and she must receive pretty close attention because symptoms are subtle until it is a life-threatening emergency. I was torn, knowing that my friend had two cats and I couldn't take my dog with me. She requires medications and a special, home cooked diet. I placed a notice for an emergency, 24-hour pet sitter who could take my dog in their home, because she wasn't well enough to be alone. I received many responses. I chose Nikki partly because of the caring message she left me, and I was impressed with her medical background. Upon meeting Nikki, I felt reassured, and appreciated her directness and honesty. I felt very little trepidation about leaving my little dog in her care for what could have been a few weeks. Finding Nikki was a gift. Trusting her with my little dog came easy by the second day. She always made time to talk with me when I called to check on my pup, and the details she told me helped me to know that she was keeping a close watch on the little one. Her love for animals is very apparent, and she notices everything. Nikki has, on several occasions, taken my dog into their home on very short notice, and on other occasions, has kept her a day or two longer than planned, again without prior notice. (A couple of times, my home cooked meals for the dog ran out, and Nikki cooked up a batch without being asked.) Nikki is very knowledgeable concerning medical issues and treatments, and I NEVER worry when my dog is with her. My pup enjoys every second with Nikki and her family, and it's a special treat for her to go there. She is well socialized during those visits, with Nikki's family and seven pets, with neighbors and friends, and with other pets that Nikki sometimes has at her home. I have gifted my dog with a 24-hour stay at Nikki's home on quite a few occasions, even when I didn't need a pet sitter! Nikki has far exceeded my expectations of a pet sitter, and I've always received from her so much more than my money's worth. I highly, highly recommend Nikki. She is skilled, patient, reliable, honest and caring; she notices every detail, and she LOVES animals! I'm so thankful to have found her.

I have two dogs and one cat; all are older animals and one dog is blind. Leaving my pets in the care of others is the hardest decision I have had to make. No one cares for my pets better than me, except for Cupid Pets! Kim and Bruce are down-to-earth animal lovers who have bent over backwards for me and to make sure my pets are happy and safe! They come to your house to evaluate your pets, they listen carefully to your instruction and with their knowledge, can offer some suggestions if issues arise. They have the time (never rushed walks), they have the training (how to greet fearful dogs) and they have the love of animals (belly rubs for the dogs and pettings for the cat) that make them wonderful pet caregivers. They also try to be flexible in their scheduling and are reasonable in their pricing.

I couldn't be happier with the training that we've received from Social Tailwaggers. Jodie, our trainer. is so patient and very knowledgeable. The first time we met, we discussed what training I was interested in and what goals we were trying to achieve for my dog, Cooper. Cooper was around 10-11 months old when we began our first training session. She immediately began to introduce new skills and commands to work on training Cooper. After each lesson, Jodie sends a detailed email outlining all of the skills we worked on and suggestions to help with practicing on my own. Jodie was also helpful with recommendations on types of toys and feeding bowls to help with the energy level of my dog. I would highly recommend Social Tailwaggers to anyone who needs help training a new puppy or an older dog. It is well worth the time, money and effort to have a well trained dog and not only are you going to have a well trained, better behaved dog, it's also a lot of fun time spent with your dog.

I am so grateful to Julie of PuppyLovin for her work with my dogs and can not recommend her and her services highly enough! Julie loves and cares for my dogs like they’re her own, and they adore and respect her back. She has been taking care of them for 2.5 years now, providing them daily walks during the workweek that feature exercise, adventure, and training, and boarding them often at her place when I travel. Of the numerous area dog care providers I’ve used over the past 7 years, Julie is hands-down the best and I’ve not considered using anyone else since I met her. What she has provided that the others have not is knowledgeable, consistent training, in particular for my anxious rescue mutt. The change in him through Julie’s loving but disciplined care and expertise has been remarkable -- he’s become much more relaxed overall, and now welcomes comfort and takes my lead when he’s anxious rather than acting out. He’s truly a changed dog, which brings me such relief! Both of my dogs have also become much better walkers and much better behaved when in proximity to other dogs, all thanks to Julie, who has involved her own dogs in the training of mine, to great effect. Julie is very generous with her time -- she updates me on her progress and explains what I can do to ensure I get the same great results she does. I’m confident you won’t find a more caring, committed, and professional trainer to work with you and your dog(s)!

We had a wonderful experience with Thumbtack and Shatiya. Our longtime pet-sitters left town. We gave the website a try and quickly made the connection to Petstigious. We liked the team's experience, and rates were competitive. The initial meeting was helpful, and we felt confident while we were gone. It was fun and adorable to get pictures and updates. We know the cats were happy and well taken care of. Thank you so much! Until next time, Stacia and Brian (+B & B)

The folks at Pet Peeps were incredible. Gus was on time, well organized, and very good with our cats. He really went above and beyond when we didn't have a spare set of keys and he offered to make a copy for us. All in all, clear animal lovers and also a very well run business. We are so appreciative for their help!

Rebecca was professional but enjoyable to work with at the same time She worked to establish a positive relationship and experience for my elderly special needs dog She also worked with me to help me feel comfortable and less stressed She was excellent at listening to me and what I wanted while explaining her work and strategies at the same time She was an obvious dog lover and a “people person “ with a great personality while being professional and also a perfectionist about her work and how great she wanted my dog to look when he was finished, never rushing and never making me feel as if she was watching the clock She spent a lot of time at my home, gave my dog breaks when she felt he needed one and cleaned up as she worked She went above and beyond and I will use only her for any future needs

Kim is very professional and sweet, she took care of my kitty cat and chinchilla while we were away for our wedding. I have an incredibly needy cat but he wasn't super desperate when we got home so I could tell he had enough attention. We then used Kim to check on the house and chinchilla while away for our honeymoon. I usually worry a lot about my animals and can get a bit anxious but she was very understanding and I felt relieved to have her with them. I left my cat at a friend's house for our honeymoon but I think if we go on another long trip I will just ask Kim to come back. She has even brought in packages for us and made an extra stop to turn off my ridiculous house alarm so the beeping noise wouldn't bother my chinchilla. Highly recommend. (Oh and she is one of the only pet sitters we have had who isn't scared of the chinchilla. I can tell she is a real animal lover)

Jane took care of our FIVE little fur-bearing family members while we were away for a week. She is by far the best pet-sitter we have ever had! She started with an initial meeting in our home, which was incredibly thorough. It's clear she has a real love for and understanding of dogs, and real skill handling behavioral issues with pets. It's also clear now that we've had her support that the full range of services she offers is delivered with the same gentle, insightful, and steady care that every pet owner wants for their four-legged loved ones. She also retrieved our mail and made sure the house was safe while we were away--a real bonus! Jane provides daily written updates, which were incredibly helpful (she also identified an issue with our bathroom ceiling that would have taken us a few days to notice after we came back). She even found our shy guy, Skinner, every day, even though he is very good at hiding from strangers! We returned home to a happy, snuggly, healthy menagerie that had been expertly cared for. It was such a comfort knowing we had reliable, thoughtful care while we were away. We'll definitely reach out to Jane again the next time we're out of town. Strong endorsements from both of us humans and our furry five-some!

Hillary has been walking our puppy Chauncey during the week while we are away at work for the past 3-4 weeks. She is great to work with and very trustworthy. Our Chauncey loves her! There is never accidents in the house when we get home and Hillary leaves us notes or text messages letting us know what she did with Chauncey and if he went potty while she was there. She has been working out great and we hope to keep her business for a long time!

Taylor's care for animals is exemplary. She is very nice and my animals (dogs and horses) love her and feel comfortable around her. I love that I don't have to worry about them while I'm away because I know Taylor provides the utmost, diligent care. I also find comfort in knowing that Taylor is a certified Veterinary Assistant so of there was an emergency or if one of my animals seemed off, she would notice and attend to it and know how to safety handle an emergency. She has many years of experience with animal care and I know I can entrust the care of my fur children to her when I have to be away. You won't be disappointed and your animals will not only love her, but also be thankful someone as kind hearted and knowledgeable as Taylor is caring for them. My one horse is special needs and requires meticulous instructions for feed, hay, medications and topical treatments. Taylor has background knowledge on her health conditions and diligently gives her treatments and meds that she needs. I never have to worry those small, extra care instructions are forgotten or neglected since Taylor takes her care role with utmost dedication and sincerity. It's not just a job to her, it's a true passion. If you're looking for the ultimate pet sitter or dog walker, Taylor is the person you're looking for!

Susan is the dog walker, trainer, running companion, and home away from home for our three year old Carolina dog Sandy. The American Kennel Club says Carolina dogs are the most hierarchical breed which means until you establish yourself as their alpha, they can be willful, exhibit dominance (i.e., they want to be at your face level so they jump up), and have almost boundless energy. We were told that Sandy would be as energetic at 13 years as she was at 13 months. We said, What have we gotten ourselves into? But Susan has turned Sandy into a perfect lady. First she taught her to sit in the care\ and not bother the driver. Sandy now loves her rides. Susan took Sandy on long runs. Sandy came home so tuckered out she only wanted to lie on her pillow and sleep. When Susan arrives for Sandy’s run, Sandy gets so excited she wants to jump up and kiss Susan’s face (remember dominance). Susan uses that as a teaching moment so that Sandy minds her manners and has to wait and sit before she gets to go on her run. Susan has four dogs of her own and when she boards Sandy for the weekend the dogs have a wonderful time together. Susan's dogs teach Sandy their good manners. In short, Susan has taken one of the most difficult breeds to train and turned her into almost the perfect pet, because once Sandy learned her manners all she wants to do is kiss and hug you. We love Sandy and she is a full member of our family and we cannot thank Susan enough for helping us train her. In short if you are looking for help with your dog from simple regular exercise, to boarding, to basic and then complex training, we cannot recommend anyone more highly than Susan Rubin for that service.
