Hired on Thumbtack
ncompetent duct work job resulting in no heat to my attic dormer. 3 other contractors have since said it is impossible to heat an attic with duct work. AFTER the work was done, they said I could not heat my dormer because of no wall installation. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAID BEFORE THE WORK WAS DONE. They also improperly vented my bath with little air flow and installed a floor vent instead of a wall vent. A competent HVAC contractor repaired their incorrect bath work, giving me about 3 times the airflow T&L did. My heating bill skyrocketed, despite the colder weather, as my furnace was on overtime sending heat to no where. I asked for a refund through Thumbtack and they refused. I not only wasted money on their work, I had to pay to have their duct work removed, repairs to the bath vent and a new wall vent. They care nothing about customer service or doing correct work. Thumbtack was no help. By the time they did their alleged corrections, the 45 days time for a refund had passed.

We take customer concerns seriously and want to clarify the facts regarding this project.
Before beginning work, we explained that the attic dormer had structural and insulation limitations that would restrict heating performance. We provided multiple solutions, including installing a booster fan and opening drywall to install a dedicated vent for proper airflow. These options were declined, and the customer chose a more limited modification with the understanding that it would provide only partial improvement.
During the project, we also discovered that the bathroom exhaust was improperly vented into the wall cavity by a previous contractor. We corrected that issue and replaced the wall register at no additional charge to improve airflow direction.
All invoices and communications were reviewed by Thumbtack. We strive to provide transparent recommendations and always present long-term solutions, even when customers choose less extensive options.
