FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
The US Navy introduced me to the IT Field. In 2001 I enlisted as a Information Systems Technician, partially to work in "Air condition offices". I fell in love with the profession and have been with it through the navy, school, even worked for the government as a GS-11 and then as my own consulting firm.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Right now it is basic computer troubleshooting, somebody is presented with a problem and I fix it, in the past I have done systems administration or managed services as they are known now. That is managing the complete network end to end, keeping everything up to date, and recommending changes. I am working on developing a managed services program that will provide residential clients business level support.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was working with the former Mayor of Manhattan on coordinating all his e-mail and calendars onto his desktop, smartphone, and tablet. Though the work was complex the end result was great. He had a single view for all his e-mail and his calendars all where cross connected. That means if he was booked on one calendar someone using another calendar would see that time slot has busy.
