- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely. As part of my certifications I attend several class and seminars a year to maintain my certifications. In addition, I enjoy reading many of the latest exercise and fitness journals. This gives me a bigger tool box with which to help you!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always appreciated fitness and exercise. I love the challenge and the feeling of progress. But what really got me into teaching others has to be the process of instilling hope. I'll talk about hope often because it is the driving force behind change. I started by teaching classmates and seeing their eyes light up when they would unknowingly lift a weight they'd though impossible just weeks before. After that, I was hooked!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Weight loss is the most common by far. In a weight loss program I will design an exercise program based on building lean muscle and raising your metabolism and combine that with sound nutritional advice and show you how to count your calories.
