Benchmark Services was wonderful, professional and was willing to work with my budget. They provided sound advice to this new budget-conscious homeowner, and helped me get the most out of my budget. I got a beautiful new roof, waterproofed and mold-remediated crawlspace, several things replaced and upgraded throughout my house. My favorite thing is the air scrubber attached to the HVAC which Dana and Greg recommended- never heard about residential uses for it, but I love it!! My house smells clean and fresh. Granted, to meet my budget, I had to put in some sweat equity, but I am SO happy with my “new” home. I truly appreciated the professionalism and communication from Dana, and having him coordinate different services so I didn’t have to handle it at all. He was also upfront with potential extra costs (such as replacing plywood for my roof), which didn’t happen, but I appreciated the heads-up for potential surprise costs. I plan to hire Benchmark Services again for upcoming projects at my home.

I hired e-Blu Heating & Air conditioning/custom construction through Thumbtack to do some work in my home. The experience was pleasant at the beginning, but as the project started drawing to a close and I did the walk throughs to look at the work, I found things I was not satisfied with. Part of the project included painting my ceiling. I have smooth ceilings- and a part of it were left with bubbles and texturing from the roller brush that was used. There were certain things that were overlooked that I feel a truly professional company would not have overlooked. It made me question if the quality of work I was paying for was the quality of work they would have been satisfied with in their own home. My ceiling was fixed after the 2nd touch up. My framework in a wall cut out was fixed on the 2nd call. In the process of cutting the wood around the vent on my wood floor, they scratched it and then tried to say the scratches were already there. Which they weren’t. During the paint touch ups, they did not use floor coverings, so I had to go around on my hands and knees scrubbing the paint off my newly refinished floor. I have a basement bath that was not caulked correctly. My vanity light and vent were not installed as our agreement states. I texted and spoke with Dana Fields, one of the owners (the other owner Todd Coleman, has been unresponsive), and he said he would come to my house and make things right…well, he didn’t show up when he said he would and didn’t return my messages when I reached out. I have paid them in full, yet I have a bathroom that hasn’t been finished per our agreement. This has been very unprofessional on their part. Overall I feel very disappointed because they kept stating how they pride themselves in their work and leaving the customer satisfied. Yet, they have failed to return my messages and responding to my request for a refund for the work that was not completed . Please do not use them, or you may be left in the same predicament as me. UPDATE: The owner (Dana) contacted me last week and we spoke about all of this. He explained his own disappointment in the quality of the work and the other owner’s lack of professionalism when it came to overseeing the work being done and not ensuring that it was getting done correctly. He also told me that that individual was let go from the company. Dana felt responsible and said he wanted to make it right. He kept his word. He hired another company to come paint the bathroom, and fix the blemishes the other supervisor left behind. He also fixed my hardwood floor, stained and evened out the cut on the floor. It looks so much better! As you can see from the pics, everything was fixed. I really appreciate that Dana took the time to talk to me and that as a company he wanted to make things right. This has been my first time renovating a home, and I’ve experienced a lot as a first timer w/ no renovating/contracting experience and I’m sure, like most have had bad experiences. Yes, this company came in at the end of a long project to redo/fix that previous contractors failed to do or could not do. I have a strict budget so continuing to hire other people to finish what others started was no longer an option. I am not the kind of person that goes around nitpicking and “looking” for things to find fault in. I feel like my concerns were legitimate, and I appreciate that Dana was very responsive and understanding of my concerns. I appreciate that he wanted to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction, which keeps with the integrity of his company. I would recommend E-Blu simply for their responsiveness, for ensuring the quality of work is up to par with what the customer wants and because if you have questions or concerns they will communicate with you.

Our pricing is very competitive. Each job is looked at and priced according to what the customer wants.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Schedule Service - Book an appointment online or by phone. We charge an $89.00 fee for diagnosing an issue. We also offer free second opinions and free estimates for replacements and new installations. 2. Estimate Repair or Replacement - We always recommend the most cost effective solution and will give you all the information you need to make an informed decision. A potential warranty will be checked at the time of service. Most brands offer a 10-year parts warranty (if registered) for residential units and a 5-year parts warranty for commercial units. 3. Repair or Replacement - We always try to complete repairs at the time of service. If a unit needs to be replaced or a part needs to be ordered we may have to schedule another appointment. If we have to replace your unit we will credit the diagnostic charge to your new unit. 4. Completion - Payment is due upon satisfactory completion of the repair or new installation.
