If you're debating on whether or not to hire Mike Faulkner, I'm telling you right now to just give the man your money! He's well-prepared, friendly, organized and efficient, unbelievably thorough, and he does it all for the perfect price! A few weeks after the wedding, my husband, family and I still find ourselves looking back on that awesome night and saying "Wow, he was really great, wasn't he?" And the answer is, yes, he was really that great! If I were to describe our experience with Mike in one sentence, I would say "he goes above and beyond the call of duty and has a smile on his face while doing it!"
This was evident from the start, when we began our correspondence through email. I wasn't an organized bride by any means, unable to choose the songs for my special dances in a timely manner. But Mike didn't let that faze him. He rose to every occasion and reassured me that he could play ANYTHING I wanted with only a few minute's notice - no pressure whatsoever. My hero!
Not only that, but I let Mike know TWO DAYS before the wedding that my husband and I decided to sing the song "Love is an Open Door" at our reception (from the Disney movie Frozen). I had Plan B already prepared, thinking there was NO way he could get the karaoke version of that new, particular song on such short notice. Mike emailed me back almost INSTANTLY saying that he had the ENTIRE Frozen soundtrack in karaoke! Color me impressed!
I chose all of my favorite songs on his easy-to-use online DJ client. I also let him know to mix things up for my guests of all ages because I wanted to keep everyone engaged as much as possible. The song selection at the wedding was a perfect blend of timeless old and new, while still paying careful attention to the songs that my guests and I requested. The dance floor was packed from open to close, and I swear my husband and I had never seen our 50- to 70-year-old parents, aunts and uncles dance like that in our entire lives! I will also never forget how Mike was able to play some of the crazy, ancient songs that my dad requested, even though he'd never heard of them before! That was HUGE, because my dad is very particular about his music!
For the rest of us, Mike played some Top Hit songs that got an INCREDIBLE reaction out of our guests, and I could never have imagined that the reception would be that much fun (ask him to play "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark!"). I firmly believe that he is a big part of why so many people said that ours was the best wedding they'd ever been to. And that is really what you want to hear about your wedding!
Not only was he right on with the music, I live two states away, so I wasn't able to meet him until the day of my wedding. He was more than willing to work with me and always available for consultation despite this. He was even on-site and set up with sound, lights and microphones before I, the bride, had even arrived. I was so impressed by his punctuality! And his light set-up looks great, by the way!
I got to shake his hand and meet him a couple hours before the ceremony, and he was so kind and excited to be there; I couldn't help but instantly like the guy. There was no doubt in my mind that he would nail the ceremony after everything we'd talked about, and it turns out that the whole night did go flawlessly (which I'd been told was impossible! Mike played a huge role in helping things go seamlessly, but more on that later.). He needed zero guidance from me at all. All I did was email him my planner's timeline and her contact information, and he took care of the rest!
To point out a few extra ways that Mike went above and beyond for us:
1. We were using the WedPics App so that our guests could take photos and upload them to our page. We had tent cards placed at each table setting so that our guests would hopefully read them, download and use the app. Mike picked up a card and made an announcement about WedPics, what it was, and how to use it without us even thinking to ask! That was extremely intuitive and thoughtful of him.
2. By the time our reception started, the 4 hours we'd paid for our photographer to take pictures were already almost over! Mike was beside me in a heartbeat telling me not to panic - he could make all of the necessary announcements and play all of the necessary songs in a timely manner. He helped me get all of the photo-worthy moments, such as the First Dance, the Bouquet Toss, etc., done and out of the way before the photographer had to leave. That saved us a couple hundred dollars of overtime!
As you can see, we have zero complaints about BMFSoundDesign -- only compliments! Mike -- you went above and beyond our expectations! You had us in mind the entire time. You knew exactly what to do and how to help us. You were able to play all of my dad's crazy requests for songs you'd never even heard of! So many people at the wedding had great things to say about you and I will recommend you to everyone I know. Thanks again!

My husband and I got married in July and we both agreed that out of all the vendors we worked with, DJ Mike was our favorite! From the very beginning, he was super organized and excited to be a part of our big day. He was always willing to meet with us whenever and wherever we wanted. We didn't have alcohol at our wedding so we wanted a DJ that could still get everyone up and dancing and he sure did! Everyone had a blast at our wedding and is still talking about how great the music was and how awesome the DJ was. DJ Mike did the music, was the MC, set up a lit monogram on the wall, and did lighting on the dance floor and all over the room. Also, you cannot beat the price that he offers! I feel like I am rambling but I just cannot say enough good things about DJ Mike Faulkner. Basically, if you are looking for a DJ, hire him! You will be VERY glad you did! Thanks again, DJ Mike!

Mike was the DJ at my daughters wedding and he went above and beyond . He made sure every request the bride and groom had was fulfilled. He was professional and always had good communication with them leading up to the wedding. At the reception and dance he made sure everyone had fun. A lot of people commented on what a great night it was and his lighting, slide show were exceptional. His sound system had really good sound. We would recommend Mike 100 percent. Thanks Mike for doing such a great job and making their day so special!

Mike was great! My wife and I were planning a wedding in her hometown of Cincinnati, OH from Sacramento, CA. He made it easy and enjoyable. He was able to work with the not so easy to work with staff at the Bell Event Centre. Thanks Mike for our being our DJ during our special day!
