- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Officiant uses a standard pricing system. Please know that some prices may not appear here, as she may have added a category or changed a cost for a specific service since last updating the information provided here. The basic pricing is as follows: 1)$60.00 - Reading of the vows. 2) Weekdays after 4:30 p.m. - additional $30.00. 3) Weekends - additional $30.00. 4) Weekends after 4:30 p.m. - additional $30.00. 5) Holidays - additional $60.00. 6) Within a couple of days before or a couple of days after a holiday - additional $30.00. Note: Holidays include all nationally acknowledged days or a National Election, typically in November. It also includes my own wedding anniversary, August 29th, my birthday, November 15th and my husband's birthday, July 21st. Note: Officiant has the discretion to turn-down wedding requests due to personal and professional reasons. 7) Mileage - $.58 (cents) per mile roundtrip. Mileage costs may be reasonably decreased at the discretion of the officiant under circumstances when officiate will travel for a distance which may cause the cost of the marriage to extend greater than officiate and client believe to be reasonably fair. 8) Writing vows or modifying vows are difficult to state a price. Based on the extent of officiant's needed services in rewriting, writing or modifying the vows that the officiant generally uses, the cost will range in price. Simple changes to the already existing vows, don't cause additional costs. 9) Officiant's presence at the rehearsal - additional $30.00. If the wedding rehearsal requires the officiant to travel, mileage is applied. If the officiant must remain over at a hotel after a rehearsal to be able to attend the wedding on the next day, the couple is responsible for paying the cost for overnight stay and associated expenses.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am reasonably flexible in the way that I work with potential clients or contracted clients, but there are basic steps that I take in my initial contact with clients. The flow goes like this: 1) I respond to the request either by telephone, email or text message. 2) I briefly introduce myself and request a more detailed explanation about their upcoming wedding and what they expect of me. 3) I inform the potential client of that which I will do and how I envision my work blending with their ideas. 4) I give them a run-down of the costs for that which they have proposed and that which they have requested of me to perform. 5) I work with potential clients to bring the cost to where both parties, the couple and I, are satisfied. 6) The couple informs me whether or not I am hired. 7) If hired, a deposit of half the amount of total cost is requested and paid, if not at that moment, very soon thereafter, for the deposit confirms and books the wedding. There is no return of deposit. In excruciating situations, it is at the discretion of the officiant whether a deposit is fully or partially refunded. 8) All services that the officiant performs are discussed in detail. 9)The couple contacts officiant at a later but reasonable date and time prior to the wedding to inform her about e.g., the confirmed venue and other last minute details that the officiant should be aware. 10) On the day of the wedding, the marriage certificate is completed and signed by the officiant and the balance of the bill is paid. Note: All payments are made via Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, or a similar method, in advance. A receipt for payment follows.
