Bobby and his team took on my project with short notice and did an incredible job in cleaning a 3000 sq ft 4 bedroom house. They left the house ready to show and to go on the market after spending all day scrubbing and cleaning inside and out. I had several special requests from steamcleaning carpets to powerscrubbing decks to hauling away garbage and they handled it all including cleaning up landscaping, mowing, etc. One stop shop!! I'd recommend them every time and I do not believe there is a job too big or small!!!

I had my living room carpet and a sectional sofa cleaned for a very fair and competitive price. My 4 year old sofa hadn't ever been professionally cleaned, and it has suffered through 3 kids and some sofa surfers from time to time. Needless to say it was looking kinda sketchy. Now it looks great! Carpet RX repair and cleaning specialists even removed dry red juice stains out of the carpet! My carpet looks brand new again. The specialist, Brandon C. was on time, polite, professional, friendly, knowledgeable and happy to help! Thanks so much for your service and eco-friendly RX Out professional strength carpet & upholstery spot cleaner. I will use Carpet RX again next time and will refer Carpet RX repair and cleaning specialists to all my friends and family.

I entered the info. required for a carpet cleaning bid which also included my lounge chair. There was no place on the Thumbtack form to add the armchair so I put it in some box toward the bottom of the input sheet. I received a bid from Brandon Hopf of Oxi Fresh which seemed quite reasonable. However, I contacted him to make sure the armchair was included in the quote. He said he wasn't aware of the armchair as that would be an extra charge. However, after he reviewed the input form, he found where I had entered the armchair. He proved to be a man of integrity by not charging me extra for the chair even after I offered to split the difference with him. He declined and insisted on his original quote. I prefer to do business with people of character and integrity which he proved to be. His carpet cleaning is a "greener" process rather than a steam cleaning with the cleaning chemicals used. It is a drier process which allows the carpet to dry faster. I am extremely pleased with the results and would not hesitate to use him next year when my carpets need cleaned again. He also did an excellent job on my chair and removed all of the crud ground into the arms of the chair over the 13 years I've owned it and never had it cleaned. It came out looking almost brand new. (He also threw in a bottle of the carpet cleaning fluid he uses for future spot cleaning if necessary at no extra charge.) I would highly recommend Brandon Hopf of Oxi Fresh for your carpet/furniture cleaning needs!

Stephanie did a very thorough job. We were very pleased as we are both incapacitated and was happy that we found someone that knew how to clean. She cleaned our floors the old fashioned way, on her hands and knees, got all the corners. Even rolled up our livingroom carpet and shook it out and vacuumed it.

Angela is an amazing organizer. Angela got my 11 year old daughter to clean and organize her room. She tackled the task by getting her to first sort her numerous toys by category. Then she got her to clear the floor so we found the carpet. Next she got her to separate the toys to give away. And then she ran the vacuum cleaner. Angela also cleans the house too and does so quickly. I would highly recommend Angela to assist you with your organizing or cleaning needs.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.

How much does it cost to clean an area rug?

Whether your pet had an accident, the party got too wild, or your kids can’t control their juice boxes — we all need rug cleaning from time to time. In fact, even if you don’t have a spill or spot, it’s wise to have your area rug cleaned approximately once a year to keep the rug fibers in good health. In general, rug cleaning prices depend on the square footage of the rug, what the rug is made of, whether any repairs are needed, and whether you require the pro to travel to your location or provide pickup and drop-off services. Nationally, average area rug cleaning prices range from $80 to $120.

Wool and silk area rugs typically cost more to clean than rugs made from synthetic fibers because the more delicate materials take more care and may require specialized cleaning fluids. For example, a synthetic rug may cost $1.50 per square foot to clean; a wool, cotton, or chiffon rug could be $2 per square foot; and a silk or Navajo wool rug could cost $3 per square foot. The two most common rug cleaning methods are steam and chemical cleaning. The costs for the two methods are often the same, although a steam-cleaned rug will take longer to dry due to the moisture. If your area rug needs odor removal, moth deterrent, or hand washing, there will be additional charges.
