Hi there! I’m Simran
At the cross-section of mental health, feminism and navigating intersectional identities as a minority woman, I strive to create a safe and welcoming space for individuals, couples, and groups of all backgrounds and identities through culturally sensitive and LGBTQI+ friendly approaches.
I approach therapy through a multicultural lens, aiming to guide clients through a journey of wellness helping clients gain skills for optimal living. I take a holistic approach to therapy including mindfulness and meditation. I am trained in multiple theories such as humanistic theory and relational-cultural theory. I also draw from narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectic behavioral therapy, interpersonal and social rhythm therapy, and trauma informed therapy when necessary.
I received my Master’s in Counseling in Mental Health and Wellness at New York University. Prior to joining MWR, I worked at a private practice in Brooklyn where I provided psychotherapy to a diverse population of adult clients. I offer counseling services in English, Hindi and Gujarati.
Working together means co-creating a therapeutic journey designed to achieve lasting emotional change existing beyond the therapy room. Schedule an appointment with me today to get started! I look forward to meeting you!See more
