In my own words...

"As long as I can recall, I have been mesmerized by photography. Even as a child, I would take control of the camera and take pictures of family occasions. My interest in photography only grew greater as I grew older.

Right out of high school, I started working as a photographer and freelance writer for local newspapers. I carry through working for publications while I went to Louisiana State University. This is where I earned a degree in journalism.

In my desire to get higher education, I took up mass communication and minored in psychology and history. I have worked full-time positions at a newspaper and 2 television stations. As a journalist, I have dealt with various topics. As a sports editor, I relay the stories of human drama depicted in the sports we love. I offer these stories through photography and descriptive writing.

Put simply, I capture the photos that are worth a million words. For tears of sorrow and joy, I have been there. I have been there to attest to the young amateurs still honing their skills, and the professionals battling it out in the highest level. I have taken pictures for NFL and other major college sports.

Due to my education and experience, I take photography with a different angle. To create truly outstanding photography, mere serendipity is not enough. I am a firm believer in working for the perfect shot. The master photographers are not lucky; they need to apply their expertise and put in the necessary work.

A camera is to a photo while a brush is to a canvas. These are simply implements that can transform mundane objects into beautiful works of art. I do not misspend time fiddling my camera. Instead, I concentrate on creating the best possible photography."

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. In this business, I would suggest doing a little homework before hiring someone. A top priority should be the personality of the person you are interested in hiring. You will really want to gel with that person in order to get the most out of the experience.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My main priority is to provide value to every person I work for. This typically translates into going the extra mile and putting in as much work as necessary to get the job done.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I like serving people. I know it sounds cheesy, but I really enjoy it. I feel like it's a win-win situation every time I work with someone.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Just like in anything, it's true that practice makes perfect. Experience can only be gained through doing. If you love photography, pick up a camera and just do it. You may find yourself making mistakes, and it may be frustrating, but that's how we learn.
