Introduction: I've been a musician most of my life. Graduating from the High School of Performing And Visual Arts and becoming a trained singer helped me in knowing the technical aspects of how music is created from scratch. I learned theory and ear training as well as being in every type of group from Barbershop quartets to Pop groups. Working as a background singer for such artists as Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Grover Washington, and Minnie Ripperton, opened my eyes to what all is in the background that should be payed attention to. And my father and older brother were musicians, so I learned jazz and gospel aspects as well. I've been a disc jockey in some very major clubs throughout the nation and in places like Australia and South America. I've played along side of such well known dj's as Chris Cox and DJ Scribble, and have worked for MTV on their spring break parties throughout the country. Becoming a dj is just an extension of creating and sharing music. From singing and performing in clubs, to broadway shows and beyond. I got into the art of DJ-ing when I would get frustrated with singing jobs coming in slowly. Once I realized all that was involved with controlling the enviorment with the order of what you play and knowing how to mix for club gigs, learning beats, key signatures,etc. I took to it whole-hearted! Being a dj to me is like being a musician or, a performer. it takes focus and motivation to deliver the best overall mixture of music to keep an audience moving in conversation and on the floor. I'm addicted to it where as most look at the art as just a job. It's not as easy as some may think and I simply couldn't live without music in my life. The art of dj-ing is my spot. I like making people happy using the universal language of music. It's my "go to" that everyone has some knowledge of. I like creating a great enviorment for whatever the occasion is. I like watching people dance and have fun, and I love being the creator behind it! It such a good feeling to do what you love!
