FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For many years I worked on a sliding scale. Recently I was made aware that advertising as such puts me in a precarious legal position, so I've done away with that. But I will still entertain discounts for students, artists, seniors, or anyone who is low-income or on a fixed income - just message me to discuss. Please see my website's "rates" page for all of my fees for various services - wagsbymags.com.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I want to do is clarify the details. I find that Thumbtack's request sheet is not very well tailored to dog walking and/or petsitting, so sometimes the information provided is unclear or just incomplete. I'll likely email or text you to have this conversation, because I like to have a written record of things. When all that has been cleared up and we are both sure we want to work together, then I will schedule a free meet and greet session, so I can meet you and your animals and get details about the job and your home. At this time, we'll go over expectations - yours and mine - and all the details of the job, and if all goes well, I'll get a key or entry code or other means to enter your home to care for your animals and will book you into my schedule.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have no formal training, just 7 years of full-time on-the-job training!
