Pros: The flowerbeds are looking good and all plants seem healthy. Cons: We did not receive a written estimate and did not ask for one. Our mistake. We did not get a written completion date and did not ask for one. That was our next mistake. The owner had a series of personal and employee issues that cropped up from the end of January to the beginning of March which delayed the work on our yard. My biggest issue was lack of contact and the fact that a portion of our privacy fence was taken down and my back yard and pool was secured only by a tarp for several weeks.
Update 08/12/2017: I noted last summer that one of the plants was dying and contacted Pointe Coupee Lawn Care to let them know. The owner was not very helpful and did not offer to come check out the plant or make any attempt to resolve the problem. Within one year's time, several more plants died. I saw no point in contacting him again. Lesson learned. We should have gone with a more experienced and established company; not to mention getting a written estimate and guarantee. I need to take pictures and post them. Pictures will speak much louder than my words.
