I started working with Cathy a year ago, when a group of friends needed someone to fill in a lesson spot. I was mainly interested in riding my Canadian mare, MaeMae, as she is the one who responds well to lessons. After one lesson, I realized that my Canadian gelding, Dudley, who historically has hated ring work and being asked to do anything that is not his idea, would like Cathy's style. So I started lessons on both the following week. It has been a wonderful journey. I rode as a child, but hadn't had lessons since then. I needed help with my own riding as well as with asking my horses to do things. Cathy has an endless supply of expertise, yet she can discern in the first few minutes of a lesson what a horse needs and what the rider needs. She breaks things down into manageable chunks for my horses and I, yet challenges and pushes us at the same time. I have learned so much over the past year and look forward to learning so much more. Dudley -- the reticent one-- won two blue ribbons in his first dressage show this weekend. Two for two. Thanks to Cathy's instruction.

I like that Sara asked what my riding goals are right away. She puts the student first, not pressuring me to do more than I want. Very friendly, down to earth facility with great horses.

Elaine is a great teacher, has a passion for what she does, and has a great love for horses. I had always enjoyed riding with her and listening to her past experiences. Nothing is better than having the great feeling of stress being relieved every time I would hop on their back and let them take me on a little journey. I hope who ever goes riding with her will experience the same. ;)

If you are looking for a fun, friendly, and educational place to be... you have found it! Great management, stunning horses, some of the best training around, and phenomenal horse care. As a professional in the field, I can say that this is one of the most realistic and entertaining places to be if you love horses. Never mind the great and large indoor!Due to the location there is some mud, but the stalls and huge grass paddocks for the spring and summer months makes up for that easy!

I would strongly recommend Katrina for anyone interested in horseback riding at any level and at any age. I have been working with her for the past year and a half after losing my instructor. I had been out of riding for about 20 years and wanted to get back in. I was extremely nervous about having a new instructor but Katrina made me feel so comfortable right away. She treated me with such an individualized approach all the way from picking the right horse for me to ride to the way she teaches. I am in my 50's. Katrina has so much knowledge about all aspects of horses and riding. She has been doing it her whole life and it shows. She matched me with a perfect horse. She has treated me with respect and kindness at all times. She uses a sense of humor when needed. I have developed a strong knowledge again of horses, their care, and riding thanks to Katrina. I have developed friendships with other riders and my horse that I never would have without Katrina. She enjoys working with all of her riders and it is a pleasure to watch. She has allowed me to participate in classes she has to offer such as Natural Horsemanship. She has taken some of her students to horse shows and they come back with ribbons for excellence and of course, she accompanies them. I cannot say enough good things about Katrina Klee except- Thank you for bringing horses and riding back in to my life!

Rachael was very patient with my grandaughter's first riding experience. Rchael encouraged confidence by noticing and verbalizing the positive in alexandria's choices.

About

"Not your average horse riding lessons!" This is coaching on how to handle, read, and control horses based on how they communicate with each other- in other words, you will learn the language of the horse! We begin with safety, controlling and directing the horse on the ground, gaining confidence and a rapport with the horses. We follow the Parelli Natural Horsemanship model, and utilize their extensive online information and video tools, Savvy Club DVDs and magazines. Homework is often given in the form of some reading or to view a video online. It's fun for any age beginner or for someone with their own horse who feels there is "something missing!" We offer one- to three-hour lessons with our horses for $35 per hour. If you have your own horse and need coaching, we will travel up to an hour from central CT to coach you at your farm for $45 per hour. Our customers love the special bond and communication they form with the horses, as well as the special understanding of being able to read the horse to know what, when, where and why to do next!
