FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I price jobs based on square footage, project complexity, and finish level. I reference the RS Means Cost Book and Homewyse.com for estimating. Clients can visit Homewyse, enter their ZIP code, and use the “Installation Cost Calculator” to see realistic local pricing. Smaller repairs are billed by labor and materials plus 15% profit — typically $375/day for a lead carpenter, $275/day for additional carpenters, and $200/day for laborers.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process starts with a phone consultation to discuss project size, scope, and where you are in the planning stage. If you have architectural drawings, we can move straight to estimating. If not, we offer full design-build services through our partner firm, Tise Design Associates in Newton, MA. We also help coordinate surveys and permits, providing a turnkey, stress-free experience from start to finish.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold an Unrestricted Construction Supervisor’s License (#104291) and a Home Improvement Contractor’s License (#168258) — the highest levels of state credentialing in Massachusetts. I also have a Construction Certificate and college coursework toward a Construction Management degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology, along with a bachelor’s degree.
