College Admissions Counseling
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am flexible with pricing. My services are available hourly or through comprehensive packages with upfront prices that we set together at the outset. I offer financial aid for low-income families and special cases.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always offer a complimentary initial consultation and "get to know you session" to understand your needs and hopes, how you like to work, and explain my background and strategies. From there, we agree on goals together and I draft an action plan with timeline to guide us.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked as an independent college counselor helping students apply for colleges since 2010. I have tutored in academic subjects and SAT tests since 2008. I also have extensive experience helping international, multi/bicultural, multi/bilingual students, and students whose primary language is not English (ESL) apply to universities around the world. I worked on GAKKO Project for two years, which is an international start-up based in New Haven, CT and Tokyo, Japan that aims to improve education globally by reworking traditional approaches to teaching and learning. As a board member and project director, I was in charge of developing an innovative curriculum integrating fresh approaches to pedagogy for high school students. We had students who came from all over Asia to attend our workshops and camps. Finally, as a graduate of Yale University with active ties to the university, I can offer useful insights into campus culture, available resources, and guide applications based on my understanding of the Yale admissions committee's values.
