FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I always keep my pricing transparent and fair, based on the typical rates in Massachusetts: Minimum Charge: I have a minimum service charge of $120, which covers the first hour of work. Hourly Rate: My standard hourly rate is $60 to $80, depending on the complexity of the work and the tools required. Materials: Materials are not included in the labor cost. If I purchase materials for your project, I add 30% on top of the receipt total (for purchases up to $150) to cover the time and handling. Travel Fee: If I need to make a trip to the store to purchase materials, or pick up and deliver something for your project, I charge a travel fee of $30 to $50, depending on the distance. This will always be discussed and agreed upon in advance. Discounts: I sometimes offer discounts for larger projects, repeat customers, or when combining several tasks in one visit. Feel free to ask about any current specials. Flat Rates: For certain straightforward tasks, like installing a ceiling fan or replacing a faucet, I can offer a flat rate instead of hourly billing. I always discuss and confirm all costs with you before starting any work, so there are no surprises.
