About
That's a tough question! I'd have to say that I love meeting and connecting with new people and helping them to make their session fun and relaxed and that they don't have to be 'on' all the time. I also love editing - my husband often refers to me as 'shoes' when I am in editing mode, because I disappear into the screen and all you can see are my shoes. I'm working on striking a balance with this. While I try to get all my photos as close to done in camera, it's really fun to be able to tweak them afterwards and really make colors stand out or see an image in black and white in your head and then create that in post.

I was in need of headshots for my internal company website and sought out a photographer in my area. The entire process of selecting a photographer to our actual session has been wonderful. Liz Mceachern Hall was very accommodating and flexible in setting up the appointment, which occurred outdoors in Harvard Square. Liz Mceachern Hall was wonderful to work with and is a very knowledgeable photographer who helped me feel at ease during my first time head shot session. The quality of her photos, as well as her insight into the artistic composition of the shots, are exceptional. Additionally, I was very impressed with the format and output of the final photo review and selection process. I would highly recommend Three Twelve Photography!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have taken online classes with Creative Live and The Define School in both style and technique, but most of what I have learned has been self taught and through the tried and true process of practice and more practice.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Most of my work revolves around family sessions and children, however I have worked with professionals and independent businesses/consultants to create headshots for their business websites and social media outlets. I also would love to do more with seniors (both the young and the older! :)) and women owned independent businesses. This past summer I also photographed my first wedding and have an interest in expanding to include intimate weddings of 50 guests or less, and elopements. My own marriage story was an elopement and I wish we had hired a photographer to capture some of those moments.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When you decide you need some photos, you're not just looking for someone who knows who to handle a camera (though obviously that's important!). You're also looking for an experience. You're looking for someone you can relate to - because that makes you feel more at ease being in front of the lens and more open to being yourself, which is truly how you want to look - whether it's for a family photo that your children and grandchildren will have for years to come or a professional head shot for your new start up that's going places.
