Paul was excellent. He came to my home and delivered a professional, appropriate, and effective massage. He made me feel very comfortable and it was a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend him!Apr 20, 2020Verified
Paul is an expert at his craft. He was able to get the stiffness out of neck and shoulders. I feel great; I feel balanced and in tuned with my psyche. I strongly encourage everyone to experience his deep tissue massage. I left feeling relaxed and loose.Oct 27, 2019Verified
Actually let's get things straight here. I asked this guy one question in a text message to tell me more about his massage and he felt it necessary to tell me twice that I should read his profile or his website if I wanted to know and that was why he spent so much time writing the descriptions. Once without the snottiness would have sufficed. And he left out the part where it took him five days to contact me to begin with.May 16, 2019VerifiedSense of You Massage by Paul's reply
I would like to set this straight as well. The reason I ask people to check out my website and what I wrote on thumbtack is because I love what I do and I want to provide as much detail as possible. It is unfair to call me "snotty" after having spent all that time and effort doing do, only to have somone asking me if there is anything I want to say about the massage. It seems to me that Michael didnt bother reading anything about me, so I asked him to check those out because I want him and anyone curious to know what to expect. I also asked Michael if he had any specific question s and he did not ask me any. As for taking five days to contact him, I honestly have no idea what he is talking about. The first text came in today. Any leads coming from thumbtack might take time to reply to, because most of those are a waste of time. My contact info is clearly listed and anyone that really is serious about scheduling calls or texts me. In any case, I would ask anyone reading this to read the reviews of the people that actually came to see me for a massage, read my website and reviews there, and what I wrote on thumbtack. Anything that you cant find there, please ask me specifically what you want to know and I would be happy to tell you.
Paul was very quick to respond to text questions and worked with me to find a time good for both of us. The massage was one of the best I’ve ever received and he loosened areas of tension I didn’t know I had. He was also very respectful and mindful of my needs.Jun 14, 2018Verified
I have been receiving massages from Paul for over 2 years. Paul takes his profession very seriously. He always wants to know if there are problem areas that need extra attention. Paul uses many different techniques that make for a great experience. I really enjoy how Paul incorporates stretching techniques that help with flexibility. I am the type of person that finds it very hard to relax, and after my massage, I feel very relaxed and refreshed. I definitely recommend receiving a massage by Paul.Jun 7, 2018
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Initially, I usually discount the first session to $70 for one hour or $90 for 90 minutes. The normal rate is $80 for an hour and $120 for 90 minutes. I may be able to offer additional discounts if their is a pressing need for massage and a limited income, or for recurring sessions. I dislike haggling however.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Usually upon arriving, I will let new clients know the location of the restroom and the massage room. I then will do a brief intake to assess whether there are any injuries, surgeries, allergies, or other information relevant to receiving a massage. This usually doesn't take more than a couple minutes, unless there is extensive history. I then show the client how to position themselves on the massage table, and leave the room to allow them to disrobe to their level of comfort and get on the table. I then ask if they are ready before entering, and enter if they are. Typically I spend half the alloted time working while the client is prone (facedown) , and half while supine (face up), unless otherwise asked to work differently by the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?615 hour massage course at the Polarity Realization Institute (now called the SpaTech Insititute) which included anatomy and physiology, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Neuromuscular, Range of Motion, Stretching, and other classes. I also studied in New York informally with a number of massage therapists and learned Esalen, Thai Massage, Lomi Lomi, Body Electric, and others techniques. Other classes include Yoga that included passive and active stretching, Polarity Therapy (form of energy work), Reiki (level 2), and other energy healing modalities.
