I offer private violin and viola lessons for ages 5 to adult, beginners through advanced. I use both Suzuki and traditional approaches. I teach lessons in my home studio in Uxbridge, MA. I charge $60 for each 1-hour lesson or $45 for each 45-minute lesson. I am a member of the Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra in Milford, MA. I am also a freelance violinist, fiddler and violist in the New England area, performing with Portsmouth (NH) Symphony, Metrowest Symphony, Assabet Valley Mastersingers Orchestra, Sounds of Stow, Alexander's Jazz Time Band and the Bradley Playhouse. I have my own band called Mama's Boy, and am a member of the band Hobo Coat. Parents of young students are strongly encouraged to attend all lessons, to take notes, to "be the teacher at home" and to supervise the student's practicing every day. Students are strongly encouraged to listen to recordings of each piece that is being studied.See more

Kim D. says, "Before meeting her, I was a student with seven years of experience in classical music. However, after a long period of neglect, my skills and technique declined significantly. Despite that, through her dedicated guidance in each lesson, I not only regained my former abilities but also learned many new things. She helped me rebuild my foundation as an advanced player using essential materials such as Sevcik (bowing technique and shifting technique), Schradieck, scales, and Mazas. In every class, she paid close attention to my movements, gestures, and sound. She was always present, observing carefully and giving feedback, because she is very strict when it comes to musical fundamentals. She also showed me the importance of a strong foundation by guiding me through renowned pieces such as Lalo, Bach, Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen, Pablo de Sarasate, and Polonaise Brillante, among others. During our lessons, she was always patient and supportive. She listened carefully, adjusted the pace whenever I struggled, and spent time helping me practice while also teaching me how to practice effectively. After each class, she wrote out plans for the next session so that I could prepare properly. She consistently encouraged me when I made mistakes, so I never felt pressured when learning with her. Beyond the lessons, she went above and beyond to support me in my musical journey. She actively introduced and guided me through the process of applying to music schools, explained the differences between programs, helped me create a preparation plan, and even assisted me in selecting the right instrument for auditions. In short, through our lessons together, she not only helped me restore and enhance my musical foundation, but also reignited my passion and awareness in music."See more
