FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Clients need to understand the value of photography. The over $15,000 of dollars of equipment we use and need to maintain, as well as the weeks of editing, we deserve every penny. I include travel fees for all bookings further than 15 miles. Any wedding booking further than 60 miles requires a accommodation stipend. DISCOUNT ! any referral made to another family or friend who puts down a deposit gives the customer a 20% off photography service their next booking :)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process typically starts with a consultation, getting to know the client what the project or reason for hiring a photographer and what the process looks like with working with me. Sometimes I need to brainstorm to include creative input and sometimes the client knows what they want. I encourage creating a mood board on Pinterest or sharing photos of inspiration for what they want to create. I make sure details of date/time, location, are locked in and whether styling/props/MUA and necessary details are discussed and found.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have done a few 10 week or 3 day intensive workshops at New England School of Photography for portraiture and studio lighting. I have also attended half a year at Brooks Institute majoring in Photography. Much of my experience is self taught freelancing, collaborations and running a full time studio business, as well as paid online courses on PHLearn.
