Introduction: As a Karen Pryor Certified Training partner I am committed to helping people better understand their dogs through the powerful process of clicker training, It really is an amazing science. I try my best to make the training experience positive for the handler as well as the dog. I give people more than one option to choose from when approaching a problem because if the client doesn't believe the plan will work than they won't implement it. I love being able to help people build better relationships with their dogs. There is nothing better than visiting a client for the second or third time and seeing a big smile on their faces after they've had one of those "Ah-hah!" moments with their dog-)

I adopted Grace at 6 weeks. She bonded quickly to our family as we did with her. She became very protective of our family, especially me, and our property. Other issues were slowly becoming apparent. With a huge list of dog trainers before me, something in my gutt told me to give Brian Goldrick a call. Our first phone conversation made it clear I had made the right choice. I picked up on his compassion and respect for our 4 legged friends right away. I was much in need of a trainer who had experience with dogs with social issues. Taking Grace for a walk became very unpleasant to the point of becoming unbearable, as she would rear up on her hind legs, fur extended up, growling and barking and pulling towards every dog we walked by. Her response was frightening not only to me but every dog walker we passed by. I explained to Brian that we had both been attacked by loose roaming dogswithin a short period of time -between attacks, and I contributed these experiences to her reactions towards other dogs. To this day, I panic when I see dogs walking unleashed and I know Grace senses my fright. Brian and Grace immediately clicked upon meeting. Thru our weekly sessions, Brian patiently taught the click and treat method of dog training. It takes time for both owner and dog to adjust, my dogs responses are quick and I had to learn to be just as quick. Lots of Practice. The day Grace and I walked through the park, passing by multiple dogs and owners without her being reactive was a blessing I was waiting for. So thankful!!! Taking Grace for walks became enjoyable. When service techs come,by, ie, plumbers, electrician, the painter, UPS man, click and treat works wonders. Thanks for the harness leash, love the way its works. Thanks Brian!

I first met Brian when he came into my workplace with his two gorgeous and well behaved dogs. After discovering that he was a dog trainer and telling him that I was having difficulty getting my dog to listen to me we set up a few training sessions. Brian uses the "clicker" training method where you just click when your dog does something right followed by a treat that reinforces the desired behavior. Brian was very professional…you can immediately see how much he loves and cares about dogs. He gave concise, written homework so that I could practice with my dog in between sessions. He was very patient and sweet with my dog and didn’t overwork or stress her. The best part is that not only did my dog quickly take to Brian’s training but she also responded to him as a new buddy. She is usually very shy and timid around people she doesn’t know well but after a session or two she was very excited to see him…her tail would not stop wagging! I can highly recommend Brian!!

Brian was EXCELLENT to work with. I had a chocolate lab puppy - full of energy and a mind of her own. I knew I wanted her to be well behaved and not obnoxious to friends and guests. Brian listed to me and what my priorities were - he work with both of us, explained the whys and hows of what we were doing, and provided us with homework so that we could keep working on the skills that my puppy was learning. Brian never made me feel bad if we (me) wasn't perfect - he just kept encouraging us. Friend, family, and company always commented on how my puppy was "getting better" (or less obnoxious). I recommend Brian HIGHLY... worth every penny! Your dog will be thankful you took the time to work with Brian!

So far, working with Brian has been a dream. We rescued a dog that we quickly realized was NOT socialized and we were tired of all of the barking. We started attending a group obedience class that used old school, physical methods-- it was a nightmare. Neither of us learned anything. We have two cats, a small child, and live in a fairly busy neighborhood. For a reactive dog that barks at everything, this was a recipe for a noisy, miserable life together. I decided it was time to do something completely different, and found Brian. Since meeting Brian almost 1 month ago, things have changed so much. He has given us some incredible tools to use, plus frequent email and phone support. I've often referred to him as my "dog therapist." I can't wait to see how our dog will evolve after another month of work. I will be sad when our sessions end, but I will have a calmer dog that has coping tools, and an excellent resource in Brian.

My dog Isla is a very shy dog, sound sensitive and fearful of strange people. She also is not the kind of dog who "wants to please" humans. I hired Brian because I had seen how good he is with shy dogs. His limitless patience with my recalcitrant dog and his use of positive training methods transformed Isla into a well-behaved dog. She walks very well on leash, she no longer makes mad dashes out the door or gate, and her coping skills in new situations are much better. Brian also has given me techniques for helping Isla when she is in stressful situations. I recommend Brian whole-heartedly for positive dog training that really works.
