I strive to have a real back and forth relationships with my students. Many of my students will send me songs and clips on YouTube of drummers they want to sound like and I will craft the lesson around that. I don't believe in one way of teaching. Every student I have is completely different. Some students really want to work on their chart reading and some drummers just want to get better at playing with their band. I truly believe one of the biggest problems with private lessons is the cookie cutter mentality that a lot of teachers have. I love the look in the eye of a student when they get inspired by the drums. It sounds corny but it really makes me happy to see other people enjoying the craft that I've been working on for years.

I've taken 3 lessons with Ben and I am extremely happy and excited about the potential of my drumming! Ben is a great, thoughtful teacher that is not scared to throw new and exciting rhythms at you. As a beginner drummer with music experience, I value his patience and friendliness and he will even cater his lessons to any style you are curious about! If you are new to drumming or are at a higher level, Ben is the guy that will open your drumming to new levels. I look forward to our lessons and many more throughout the year!

Upon meeting Ben, I was very impressed by his professional attitude and his engaging approach to our first lesson. He had us begin by playing a 4 on the 4 floor groove, and payed close attention to my hands and technique so he could assess where I was, and where I wanted to/could be. He wasted no time in giving me helpful tips to improve my left arm. He also wrote out exercises for me, and reading is imperative for me as a personal goal, so it was perfect. I'm very thankful that I went with Ben over the other two teachers who quoted me. I'm excited for our next lesson!
