Sully went in unsure of what to expect and before even leaving said he wanted to do it again! James gave him a set of drum sticks and he's been tapping on everything! He is excited for his next lesson!

I brought my ten year old son to James for a first lesson a couple of weeks ago. My son is very shy around new people and James immediately put him at ease, just by his friendliness and his nice demeanor. The first "trial" lesson went well and he extremely excited about playing because of the encouragement that James gives him throughout the lesson. My son counts the days until his next lesson and has commented more than once on how James is "such a nice guy." You know what they say, kids are great judges of character! Before we left the first lesson, we asked James to play something for us....we were blown away by his expertise on the drums. We could have pulled up a chair and listened for a long while. Excellent experience with a fine musician who very obviously knows how to play and how to teach!

James has been a great teacher. My son has been taking drum lessons for 3 years with other music teachers at a different place. Although he wanted to learn drums he started to lose his enthusiasm. James made it fun and exciting for him. I'm so glad we changed places and found James. The passion is back in my son's music.
