- How did you get started doing this type of work?
With over 11 years in the business, I began my career by enrolling into a vocational high school that focused on the fundamentals of electricity, NEC Code, Ohms law, and performed over 2,000- hours of on-the-job training with Master electricians. Shortly after graduation I began working for a residential electrical company and enrolled in a 3-year program at Wentworth Institufe of Technology which allowed me to obtain my Journeyman electrical license at the age of 21.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A recent electrical project out company completed was a residential installation of a new lighting system. The project involved designing the layout of the lighting system, running new electrical wiring, installing light fixtures, switches, and controls, and testing the system to ensure it was working correctly. The project took about 4 days to complete with two technicians.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
-It's crucial to hire a licensed electrician who has the necessary permits and insurance to work in your area. This will ensure that the work is up to code and that you are protected in case of any accidents or damages. -Make sure the electrician has experience working on projects similar to yours. Ask for references and check online reviews to get an idea of their past work. -Always get multiple quotes from different electricians to compare prices and ensure you're getting a fair deal. However, don't just choose the cheapest option without considering their qualifications and experience. - Before hiring an electrician, ask for a detailed plan outlining the scope of work, materials needed, and estimated timeline. This will help you understand the project and avoid any surprises down the line. -Make sure you communicate your needs and expectations clearly with the electrician. This will ensure that they understand what you're looking for and can deliver the results you want. -Finally, trust your instincts when choosing an electrician. If something doesn't feel right, it's better to keep looking until you find someone you feel comfortable working with.
