Introduction: What makes my service stands out is my true passion for the job, namely bridging the communication between the East and the West. Learning English has opened a new world for me. I hope my class will have the similar function that encourages and helps people to explore more about China and to deep understand Chinese culture. I always have a faith that effective communication will make the world better.
I believe the language and the culture are the two sides of one coin. My major in anthropology and history prepares me well to deliver culture and language training in the same time, which helps you understand and master the language easier.
I am also good at academic Chinese. I am particularly interested in nineteenth and twentieth centuries East Asia history in a global perspective. I hold a master degree in Global, International and Comparative History from University. Also with one year study experience in History Ph.D. program.
I have four years language teaching experience. At first, I served as a graduate recitation teaching assistant for Third Level Chinese language study for a class of 32 undergraduate students. When I graduated I worked for a language training institute in D.C. for a while. Since then I have been teaching Chinese on and off. Most of my clients are adult students, but I also have experience in teaching high school students and professionals such as professors and diplomats.
