Teaching drums is just plain fun for me and I really enjoy seeing my students grow into their personal musicianship. We laugh together and we learn together. Playing the drums well is not easy but super rewarding so even the smallest amount of progress my people make is a huge thrill for me.

Joe “To say that I'm happy with Mike's services would be an understatement. As a semi-professional drummer, I find Mike to be extremely knowledgeable in his profession. Before meeting Mike, I was a bit nervous of his high caliber resume and not being good enough to study with him. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$60 per hour at my home studio, $160 for a 75 minute “house call”
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to spend the first drum lesson assessing the student's playing and listening ability. We talk about short term goals on the instrument and we design a practice routine to meet those goals quickly. The student will do a lot of playing and guided practicing every single lesson and is usually happily surprised at how much progress they can make.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a drummer for 47 years and a professional for 42. I've played drums on several gold/platinum records and close to a hundred indie releases. I have toured nationally and internationally, from super deluxe to sleeping in a van. I've played many thousands of gigs and I've taught drums for the last 25 years. Drums and music are my life and it's the only job I've ever had. I love teaching and I am very lucky to be able to share!
