FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The question I first I need answers for is what is the conditions of the framing? The answer to this question will always dictate the cost and time estimate for wallboard installations, finish taping and the entire scope of work process for your project. Is the framing, or undersurface ceiling/wallboard nailings, in a condition to even attach sheathings in a standard way? Sometimes, a house is very old, and a customer may want me to include carpentry preparations to the framing, just to be able to install the ceiling and or wallboard sheathings. Upon my approval of the framing assessments, more times than not, I am presented with typical rectangular or square rooms with 7'6" ceiling heights, which always make my pricing competitive. However, there are also so many otherwise things I have to consider when I am pricing drywall installation, and taping to finish, ready for oil or latex primer application process. My pricing considerations are dictated by the height of ceiling, if there are soffits, how many corner beads (around windows and doors), and equally importantly is that I will appropriate the best ceiling or wall sheathing materials (black mold resistant wallboard sheathing commonly known as purple board, or cement board, fibreboard), to your project when necessary.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
What is my typical process for working with new customers? At this time, my answer is evolving. LOL! I can write now that while I am assessing, estimating and executing the production to completion of your project, I care about every nuance of my section of work more than you do. I typically ask my customers to play my favorite word game which is for them to select (2) out of (3) words, to sort of define their overall purchasing objectives for everything they acquire by purchasing. The (3) words are 1. Correct 2. Fast, 3. Inexpensive. The word they leave out tells me what they don't care about, AND, the quality of work they would expect not just from Dale Desmond Designs LLC, but from any other product or company they are seeking an estimate from. More times than not, I care about the word my customer leaves out more than my customer, and that is how my product always reaches a higher level than expected, and paid for by my customers.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
1983 - I graduated from Keefe Vocational High School for Carpentry which basically and immediately prepared me for becoming a commercial/residential drywall and painting sub-contractor with certifications. Since 2010 I have successfully completed various part-time and full-time campus and online accredited classes to create, merge, and establish my learning skills as it relates to construction, graphic arts and using relative online apps and tools.
