FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Beadwork and crochet pieces. I sell a lot of statement neck pieces, lately a crocheted collar in really yummy yarn - all hand-dyed in Baltimore by local artists. Most of my clients desire a new piece that just rocks their wardrobe for the season.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look at photos and ask a lot of questions if you are looking for custom work. Ready-to-wear pieces will be the most cost-effective way to buy jewelry, but as an artist, I love creating new designs! It's important to remember that when you order custom work, you are paying for a process, not just an item. Designing can take a while, but it is a great opportunity to get new work, and something as special as you are. Having said all that, many ready-to-wear pieces are easily customized - color, slight variations, etc. You should always feel free to ask if it's possible to get something slightly different. The last piece of advice I would add is that if you have a deadline, and especially if it is 2 months or less away, please put that out there if you need custom work! I always ask when it needs to be ready by, but that should be a concern no matter who the provider is.
