That’s when I brought in Filsan, and she made such a difference. She began with an initial consultation at the project site to understand the scope of the project, my style, and what I was trying to accomplish. Our first real appointment she met me at the tile shop and helped me begin selecting tile for three bathrooms. She also helped me finalize the kitchen cabinet colors and select the paint color for the entire house. One of her suggestions was color drenching, which turned out to be a fantastic choice and something I probably would never have considered on my own.
She created design boards with active shopping links and included additional selections and details that I hadn’t even realized were essential to completing each bathroom. With so many choices to make, those boards gave me a clear direction and made the process feel much more manageable. She even helped me choose the right grout colors for the tile—I didn’t even know grout came in colors other than white! I consulted the boards throughout the course of my project, they were extremely helpful.
What I appreciated most was how easy she was to work with. She was professional, knowledgeable, positive, and encouraging throughout the process. She offered her expertise and suggestions without ever making me feel that my own ideas or preferences were wrong. She listened, respected my choices, and helped me refine them so that everything worked together.
Her fees were also very reasonable, and I especially appreciated the flexibility of being able to purchase her services in five-hour blocks. It allowed me to get professional design help where I needed it most without feeling that I had to commit to a full-service design package.
For anyone beginning a renovation who feels overwhelmed by the sheer number of decisions that have to be made, I highly recommend working with Filsan. She gave me the guidance and confidence I needed to get through those critical early stages of the project—and helped me actually begin enjoying the process. I hopefully will have budget to contract her to help with future design projects.
