After surviving a stroke in 2014–2015 that left me in a wheelchair for nearly two years, I realized that illness doesn't always look how people expect it to. Despite my circumstances, I kept myself polished and styled—not to hide my condition, but to express resilience. I was often told, “You don’t look sick,” and that sparked something powerful in me. Why do we assume illness must come with a certain appearance? I created Crippled But Cute to challenge that stigma. Our name stands for empowerment, visibility, and unwavering beauty in the face of adversity.
