FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I actually try to keep this a simple negotiation between myself and the client, so every project will have its own agreed-upon price.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I read audio mixing, mastering and engineering text books all the time. I also scour the internet for tricks other engineers share. I also graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Audio Technology from American University. I'm trying to figure out how to pay for a Master of Arts in Audio Technology from the same school (I've been accepted to the program).
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It's a lot more complicated than most people outside the profession think it is. There are really good engineers behind popular bands who make sure that their talent is shown in the best possible way.
