I have done theatrical photography in the past but wanted to have photos of my home taken by someone who specializes in architectural photography. Someone I know recommended Dave Sloane. Dave took some photos of both my home and, once he got here I asked if he could take a few of my dog and I, just for the fun of it. He made some very astute recommendations about how to be best highlight certain features of the house and then, once the primary shots were done he took some portrait shots of my dog and I in the house and in the back yard. His photos of the house turned out amazingly and his professionalism and artistic skills highlighted some renovation work I had done. His photos of my pup and I were amazing. I highly recommend him.

David photographed a recent project that included multiple interior spaces on many levels of a large multi-family development/property in Washington, DC. I was very impressed with David's attention to detail! It was very apparent that he loves his work because he took his time making sure to get every shot perfect - taking multiple shots from every angle, adjusting the lighting, reviewing and critiquing and modifying if needed. The photos are awesome and each space has shots that highlight the best characteristics it has to offer due to David finding the perfect angle and lighting, etc. On top of his expertise and talent, he is a very easy to work with (and downright just a really likeable guy!) - thumbs up and five stars all the way.

I contacted David in search of some professional Head Shots. He was quick to reply and very accommodating when working around my schedule. I spent about an hour with him in his home studio. It was a very professional atmosphere and he was very concerned about what I wanted to achieve, rather than telling me what to do. After he understood the goal I wanted to attain, he did the shoot, and we reviewed the work on the spot. After a few quick re-shoots, I was on my way with a thumb drive to review the photos on my own time. After my selections, some fantastic post production was done and the final product was returned in quite a timely manner. The overall experience could not have been better and I will defiantly use David in the future for any photography needs.

I was introduced to Mr. Sloane by another fashion enthusiast and designer and once we met and talked we instantly connected on great organic level. I find Mr. Sloane incredibly creative and professionally on point. He's a great listener with the capacity to capture the photo you're looking for. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to keep my rates as affordable as possible. For example, the price for a basic headshot is $200.00 (travel to and from your location, 45-60 minutes for the shoot, and 30 minutes for post-production photo-editing). If the customer wants multiple images (meaning more shooting and editing time), I typically propose a fixed fee once I understand the customer's needs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A good conversation will go a long way toward assessing the needs of a potential customer, determining the venue for the photograph, and whether I am a good fit for meeting their photographic needs. If I am a good choice for the customer, I come to their home or business, set up and shoot several images, send them electronic proofs to review via Dropbox, edit their final selections, and return final high resolution images via Dropbox. If the client orders large format prints, they are delivered separately.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over the past thirty years, I have taken numerous courses on all aspects of the photographic process, and regularly engage in continuing education. My experience includes intensive training in both analog and digital photography.
