- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing for an event can involve many elements. Thoughts to be mindful are: Types of flowers wanted. Number of pieces needed. The labor and delivery price. Are you on one of Portland's many islands? Or do you require extra travel time? The level of service you reqiure. Will there be multuple delivery stops? Will there be a lot of set up at the ceremony site or reception area? Are you repurposing items from different sites and do you require additional help in relocating these pieces? Will extra employees be needed? All of these will effect your final price.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Because I am always striving to offer my clients fresh ideas, I continue my education through my partnership with the Maine State Floral Association. Attending and demonstrating at design shows, work shops and mentorship programs have been an invaluable resource as I continue to grow and keep current in this industry.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
While Blue Fern's focus is on event work such as weddings, personal celebrations and corporate business, in addition I also offer sympathy work for families and have recently partnered with Bloompop for local daily deliveries.
