FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My writing and editing services are fairly straightforward, but if you would like me to put together a team for a comic/graphic novel project, the structure becomes more complicated as I arrange for an artist or artists (all-in-one or separate pencillers, inkers, colorists) and any production work you may require. I have extensive contacts, though, and can put together a team for most budgets.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I can't /not/ tell stories. It's what I enjoy, it keeps my mind active. Writing can develop worlds, it can present an argument, it can bridge people and cultures.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Writing and editing have a reputation for being lonely professions, but there can be an extraordinary level of collaboration. Discussions with my editor made my first graphic novel a much better book than it otherwise would have been, and when I'm working as an editor I really feel my job is to help the author tell her or his story to the best possible effect. If you hire me as a writer, you will get a storyteller eager to work with you to create great content in whatever medium suits your needs; if you hire me as an editor, I'll assist you in refining your own work to ensure your message receives effective and engaging presentation it deserves.
