Mr. Massoglia is an extremely skilled CPA who made filing my business taxes an incredibly smooth process. I'm a first time business owner, and the idea of filing my business taxes was quite frankly terrifying. However, after my hour long consultation with Mr. Massoglia, I felt that my tax filing was in very competent hands as the the whole process was explained to me with empathy and professionalism. I can't recommend this CPA enough to any business owner!

I had not filed my taxes for several years. When the time came that I absolutely had to catch them up, I contacted several CPA’s and tax preparers, but was unable to find anyone willing to take on such a challenge and assist me with my tax returns. A friend referred me to Krassy, and she was the answer to my prayers. She is highly professional and has a passion for, and dedication to, helping and fighting for her clients. If you have ever found yourself involved with the IRS, you know what a nightmare it can be. Issues with the IRS, include inexperienced “help desk” employees and less than helpful agents. It is basically a one sided battle which is designed to almost guarantee that you will lose. Krassy guided me thru the IRS red tape and procedures. That included her spending many hours on the phone waiting to get in contact with the correct agent, along with trying to chasing down needed phone numbers. The IRS is not very helpful when they have your “feet to the fire”. They are only interested in how much money that they can pile up in penalties, fees, and interest. It appears that their mission is to cause you as much stress as possible so that you will give up your fight and pay whatever they decide you owe them, even if you don’t owe them all the money that they claim. I would never have been able work my way thru the system and get everything straightened out without all of Krassy’s hard work, support, and dedication. Even when faced with roadblocks and setbacks thrown at us, her determination to get these problems resolved was gratifying. I truly feel fortunate to have had her “in my corner” fighting for me. Often during our appointments, I walked out of the office with more hope that this was going to be resolved better than I expected than when I arrived. Krassy, thanks for all your dedication Sincerely Larry Barker

After a brief interview with Miss Riley the schedules and returns needed were quickly determined and a very reasonable rate was discussed and agreed upon. She seems very insightful, knowledgable and helpful with my particular tax situation. Although not the most inexpensive I did received a level of service and professionalism that far outweighed the cost of the returns. Highly recommend and I'll defiantly use her services again.

Ramona is absolutely fabulous! I had been with a CPA Firm for years & thought I had great service until I went to see Ramona! The amount of money she got back on one tax year alone was more than I got back in 2 years with the other firm. Not only that she reviewed what they had done in the prior years and caught many errors they had made that had cost me a lot of money. She then re-did those years and turned them in for me to get a refund on their errors! Her prices were less than half of the other firm. What a life saver she is! I can't say enough wonderful things about her!

About

The personal attention I can give to a client is greater than larger firms because I am a sole practitioner who is completely responsible for the end work product. I will review all aspects of the return with the client to insure he/she understands the return because when they sign the return they are agreeing to all its contents. The tax return in many ways is like a jigsaw puzzle waiting to be solved. I feel a great sense of accomplishment when that return is completed and the government agency approves the refund and the client/taxpayer receives the check.

I provide quality tax and accounting services with integrity, professionalism and respect for my clients. I'm dedicated to building relationships to meet the needs and expectations of my clients and I strive to achieve results by being accessible and responsive. About

I try to make filing your taxes as easy as possible. I don't have a one size fits all process and cater how we approach your taxes on a person (or company) by person basis. I enjoy helping companies navigate the tax minefield and help them save as much money as legally possible on their taxes.

I provide audits, accounting, tax preparation and tax advisory services. As a CPA, I provide audit and accounting services to small- and medium-size companies. I provide tax planning to my clients that enable them to minimize their federal and local taxes. I also prepare all the year-end tax documents, including W-2s 1099s, etc. As an enrolled agent to practice before the internal revenue service (IRS), I represent my clients regarding any and all tax matters. All they have to do is to sign the power of attorney. They do not have to spend valuable time going to the IRS themselves. I take care of all their tax problems.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire an accountant?

Accountants’ rates vary based on their education, licenses, experience, and the work for which they are being hired. An accountant may charge an hourly rate when a company or individual needs their services on a short-term basis, such as when performing an audit or requesting assistance setting up a financial database or process. Hourly rates can range as widely as $40 per hour to $300 or more per hour, depending on your geographic location and the accountant. Check out the average hourly rate for accounting services in your region.

Accountants may offer a package rate for weekly, monthly or annual services to reward ongoing customers. Many accountants offer online services where small businesses can access online accounting software and payroll assistance, and the accountant — for a monthly or other recurring fee — provides financial analysis and reporting of their numbers. For basic monthly accounting services, an accountant might charge anywhere from $75 to $500 or more, depending on what was included in a given package, the size of the client’s business, and the complexity of work requested. Nationally, full-time staff accountants earn between $40,000 and $80,000, depending on experience and other factors.

What is an accountant?

Accountants are financial professionals who have received an accounting degree from a four-year university or college. By trade, accountants prepare, maintain and examine the financial statements of an individual, business or institution. An accountant prepares reports for tax purposes and can also perform audits of public companies. Common tasks include creating budgets, analyzing profits and losses of a company, processing payroll, preparing financial statements for company leadership, and creating and maintaining financial database systems for a company.

Accountants do not automatically have a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation unless they have passed the Uniform CPA Examination and received the proper license. Regardless of whether they are CPA certified or not, accountants can assist businesses and individuals with bookkeeping and financial reporting, while CPAs are more knowledgeable in tax codes as a result of the CPA licensing examination and continuing education requirements. CPAs are also eligible to represent clients before the IRS if audit support is required, while a non-CPA accountant is not. Academic background, years in the field and professional reputation all can affect an accountant’s rates.
