I have been studying guitar with Rob for about the last 10 years, studying both theory and improvisation. Each week we review various scale and chord charts and apply them to the Rob's Jam Trax downloaded to my Nano. The Jam Trax we work on are Blues and Jazz traditionals and a set list of my songs. This has helped me to develope my own style of playing. Each week I get a challenging lesson with twists and turns that builds my confidence as a guitar player.

I came to Andrew as an intermediate-to-advanced level pianist looking to learn jazz piano. Andrew does a great job pacing his lessons to push new ideas and techniques without being overwhelming. He will also relate the techniques he teaches to how he plays in real-life, which is extremely helpful. Andrew is very easy to get along with and is also very responsive between lessons. I'd recommend him for any skill level

I began studying with Rachel about a year ago after finding her through Thumbtack. I was a pianist at the intermediate level, having taken lessons in grade school, but wished to bush up and advance after being asked to become more involved in music ministry at Church. Rachel is an excellent teacher. She is very knowledgeable about theory and proper playing technique and is able to clearly articulate those concepts. She is also patient enough to explain or demonstrate something over again until it is understood without becoming frustrated. She has two pianos side by side in her teaching space which I think is a convenient and efficient way for her to show the proper way to play a passage. I especially appreciate that Rachel challenges me beyond just playing the correct notes and rhythms but to strive towards continually creating a more expressive, beautiful, and musical sound. I feel that I have made considerable progress as a musician in the last year, and I look forward to continuing to work with her for a long time. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for quality instruction.

Daniel is an excellent accompanist, very professional and a pleasure to work with. He's one of the most capable pianists I've ever met, and he knows how to teach whether or not you have any formal training, whether or not you read music. If you're looking for a teacher or an accompanist, you can't go wrong with Daniel.

Jarrod was an absolute pleasure to work with! He played music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and entire reception! He did not need any direction during our Big Day, he is a true professional and knew exactly where to be and what to play! Jarrod put together a jazz quartet for reception and it was absolutely perfect! They played great music and all or our guests raved about it! Whether you are looking for background cocktail music, or getting people onto the dance floor, you will not be dissappointed. We wanted jazz, New Orleans style blues/jazz and that's exactly what we got! I still have several of the songs he played stuck in my head! If you are looking for a jazz musician to play fun upbeat music for your event - this is it! Thank you Jarrod!

Michael is very patient and flexible. He is virtually a one stop shopping instructor for a multitude of instruments. Any difficulties my son had with assigned music, Michael was enthused to help, Iit did not matter if it was marching band, symphonic, jazz, Gospel, or rock, he received help.

Nite Shift played for our summer party of 300 people. They have a clean sound of Bluezy Jazz, and a clear lead singer with Kim Coker. Our summer parties are by the water, and their sound carried across the lake. Many people asked me about this band throughout their performance, I think this band is sensational. Chris Connolly..... It was a pleasure to work with John. We booked him to play our ceremony and cocktail hour music for our wedding. We had a good idea of the music we wanted and he was very willing to work off our requested list. He also got some new sheet music to learn a song he previously did not know. I felt his prices were fair, his communication was prompt, and his service was highly professional. After showing initial interest, he was very helpful and sent us some of his music to listen to and gave suggestions for popular music during our event. We also met with him in person to plan out the song selections and we got to hear him play the songs, which was an added bonus. We didn't have a traditional/religious ceremony and most of the music was customized to exactly what we wanted! The piano music was beautiful and I would recommend John for anyone looking to add a pianist to their special event!

The PanaMo band offers a very original musical repertoire that draws a wide range of listeners, young and the young at heart, and everyone in between, with powerful Caribbean-inspired Latin jazz rhythms with a Motown flavor.

Steve is a top notch musician that has a Masters in Music. He has taught my son blues guitar, produced on recording sessions with my niece, Chey Hall, and plays great blues, jazz, and classical guitar himself. He had done wonders with the Jazz ensemble at the Ypsilanti Youth Orchestra, and does great work with his band.

He was great to work with, reliable, and very professional! I would recommend Will to anyone who would like a true artist perform at their wedding.

          About

I am a freelance jazz musician in the Michigan area. I am proficient in all forms of music, but I enjoy and am best at playing jazz, soul, hip-hop and funk. I am available for any sort of performance. I can construct a group upon request (i.e., trio, quintet, etc.). I am also available for private lessons on upright and electric bass, piano and keyboards, drum set and percussion and guitar. My main instrument and/or what I studied in university is upright bass, so naturally, I would be able to help most in that area. That being said, I play the drums and the piano professionally as well. All the best, Aidan Cafferty
