FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I have to do 100 hours a year of continuing education. Massage therapy is always changing, so there's always something new to learn :) Another reason I love it so!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It's something I always wanted to do, I knew it was my calling. But when I started having migraines 6 years ago and no doctor's were helping me--they found no causes, and there should have been causes because I was on my death bed--I took my health into my own hands and began massage therapy. I tried a few therapists until I found one I liked. Now a year later I am up and active and living life like a 20 year old. My therapist found the problem that the doctor's and all sorts of tests could not find. Not that this will happen with every single person, but it happened for me and pushed me to go to school so I can reach out to people, too.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your research. Make sure you get a therapist that listens, and then works with you to improve quality of life. We are here to heal, or at least help heal, but if you get someone that doesn't do what is asked of them, that doesn't communicate with you, you won't get full results.
