Ted responded promptly to my initial request and follow up email requesting more details. He provided a good quote which allowed for contingencies if needed (they were not). He arrived at the scheduled time, communicated nicely with me about how he was going to go about completing the job, which involved removing a frame for a wall mounted air conditioner and patching the exterior wall. He brought his own tools, cleaned up after himself, and hauled away the debris created by the job. I prompted him to give me some examples of other jobs that he is capable of. We are going to have him back to do some dry wall work and install a floating floor in our new kitchen. Great job.

Ted modified a built-in so that our TV would fit. The built-in took up an entire wall in our basement. The job required matching stain, making new cabinet doors, cutting out a big section of the built-it, and reconstructing pieces so that it looked finished. He was professional and friendly. The stain wasn't a perfect match on his first attempt, but instead of installing it and cashing his check, he made the extra effort to redo it so it looked perfect. Based on a few other quotes I got, his price seemed fair and appropriate. He offered suggestions and honest feedback about the best way to complete the job.
