Hired on Thumbtack

My 8 year old desktop computer crashed a couple of weeks ago and I decided to research a local repair service through my phone. I was led to the Thumbtack site and received two immediate responses. John from RapidByte Tech followed up several times after an initial email and offered his phone number and a consultation. After several emails and conversations we both came to the conclusion that my motherboard had “given up the proverbial ghost”. I told John I did not want to spend more that $200 as I had looked at a couple of refurbished units. John offered to look into a replacement board and upon writing me back concluded that due to the age of my current CPU and my budget it made sense to go with the refurbished unit and even sent me a couple of recommended links to a couple of suppliers. Being a senior, I must admit I was wary of “free” advice....fortunately I was delighted with his recommendations. I am writing this review on my new computer (with double the memory, twice the processing speed, the same hard-drive so I was able to transfer my old data, all under my budget). I highly recommend John and RapidByte Tech to anyone (particularly seniors)! John is professional, knowledgeable, courteous, keeps his word and most important is an honest man...Thanks John! David L.

He got back to me immediately on everything he did or thought should be done. He provided me with some options to help with an unfixable problem. Overall very honest and up front no double talk or BS. I highly recommend RapidByte for your next computer adventure.

We were experiencing some very bizarre issues with our Mac. When I submitted a request to Thumbtack for a computer professional, Jon responded within 10 minutes. He was at our home within the specified time frame in less than 24 hours. After his initial visit, one of the problems that I could not replicate during the time of his visit resurfaced. He was able to connect with us remotely and had it corrected within 30 minutes. Highly recommended!
