I messaged her and the 4 other cleaners that Thumbtack offered, and when I hired one, I informed all the others that I had found someone. The other cleaners were all very polite about it but this woman from Squeaky cleaners tried to extort a deposit for me "for wasting her time"! I had not agreed to anything, we were only discussing cost and time frames and I had told her I would get back to her, which I did. Some poor vulnerable person would have paid her, the way she was speaking- it was awful. I have complained to Thumbtack and she will hopefully be blocked in future.

it's very frustrating when us thumbtack pro employees have to pay to even get a job from a customer who wastes time and doesn't respond in a timely manner , we are the ones spending 20$ on a lead from someone who wastes our time no we should be compensated for those kinds of things , cleaning prices can vary it just depends , and hopefully a customer like you who wastes a cleaner time should be blocked in the near future and shouldn't even have a pro come clean for you, how bout you wear your shoe on the pros foot 😀 try and give me a nasty negative review all because I asked a question 🙃 have a great day .
