Mike from Fenix Hardwood repair did an amazing job refinishing my pine wood floors. He was super clean. As he promised his sander had filters and there wasn’t the usual expected dust. He also fixed a rotted section of our floor and feathered it in perfectly. So happy with the work quality.

Mike did an amazing job on our flooring! We replaced our entire main floor with laminate and he carefully removed the old wood floor before installing.
His attention to detail is fantastic. We felt lucky to find him and would highly recommend!

We had just bought our new home and really wanted to get the floors done before moving in, and more importantly we are both into low VOC products. Felix Hardwood Floor Restoration made sure we could use our preferred product AND IT LOOKS AMAZING! What’s even nicer is that there’s no smell to mitigate and floors are cured quickly. There’s even more colors/tints available but we wanted the red oak to be seen (and felt!) in all her glory.
We really love the feel of the finish as well as the looks. Thanks again Mike for sharing your talent and time with us- we are super grateful for your work!!

We recently purchased a home with 1,200+ sq. ft. of custom wide plank flooring which was ~ 20 years old. It had its share of wear and tear – scratches, dents, damages, etc. We decided to get the floor refinished and the damages repaired prior to moving our furnishings into the home. We found Mike (owner of Feenix Hardwood Restoration) through Thumbtack. And we are so glad we did!
Mike was quick to respond to our request and provided a very reasonable quote, schedule, and timeline. We were having the entire interior of the home painted and Mike was able to schedule us immediately after the paint work was completed. Mike estimated 6 -7 days of effort for the job. We did have a slight delay due to inclement weather (it is Michigan!) but Mike kept us fully informed of his status and what was going to happen next in the process.
He sanded the entire floor down to bare wood – having to pound most of the nail heads down below the surface - and meticulously performed the required patching and also added a transition piece which more than exceeded our expectations (and the price for the increased work required was totally fair). We were expecting the damage to be repaired with wood putty but the damage was so extensive Mike suggested we replace the boards instead. Mike ‘found’ the exact boards we needed in the rafters of our basement (another story) and used them to make the entire floor look brand new! We were also very impressed with his commercial grade equipment – he needed to patch into our electric panel to get the 220 power to use it. The sanders, vacuums, etc. worked so well that nearly all the dust and debris was contained and removed from the home. Mike prepared a palette of stain color samples to allow us to pick a color that fit with our planned décor. Two coats of sealer and two coats of finish spanned the two final days of the project with minimal fumes resulting from the finishing work.
Mikes attention to detail was readily apparent in all he did. He was as interested in making the floors look great as we were! Our floors look absolutely beautiful. Mike is a wood craftsman and an artist who clearly takes pride in the quality of his work. We felt lucky to find him and would definitely hire again. Highly recommend!
