Brent's knowledge of how the body works, is great. I learned so much, with one session. I feel the personal attention Brent gives, exceeds most other trainers. Thank you Brent!Oct 17, 2014VerifiedBrent S.'s reply
Thank you Gary! i am so happy to be a part of your fitness journey!
Brent was punctual, flexible, professional, helpful, knowledgeable, fun AND funny, thorough and patient. He asked a lot of questions and was able to diagnose some of my problems quickly and accurately. Brent was a pleasure to work with, and I feel like I got my money's worth. I would highly recommend him to anyone.Aug 2, 2014Verified

My personal experience is that Brent's training approach is very conservative and his advice does not seem to align with mainstream medical, physical therapy or other personal trainer recommendations. Examples include his advice to only use heat for pain, never ice. After three (3) weeks of working with him, I asked for key words so that I could research his training methods/approach online. He was not able to provide me any reference sources other than his company. From my experience and research, his bill rate/price seemed to be out of line with other personal trainers. Although his price was published at $70/session on Thumbtack, he charged me $129 for the first session for an assessment. I really felt that this was a "bait and switch." I also found it very odd that although his website referenced "Certifications," none were listed on the site. The Certification section on his website was blank. However, he emailed me a list of several certs, including a degree. I must be truthful; I do not know how to begin to validate what he sent in the email, but found it concerning that the information was not consistent. After the first session and $129, I was promised that he would send me a text/email with details of the homework he wanted me to do, and that the information would come two (2) days after our first session. This did not happen, and I needed to text him to remind him of his commitment. Of which, he did send me the information a few hours later. Three (3) weeks training with Brent...following his eating and exercise recommendations, I am now having a hard time buttoning my pants; this after seven (7) months of working out on my own and dropping over 2 dress sizes. I feel very disappointed and frustrated that I have lost 3 weeks of opportunity to continue with my health and fitness goals.Jan 10, 2015VerifiedBrent S.'s reply
Client feedback is important to me. I care what my clients think and am always happy to identify areas for improvement. I am sorry that you werent pleased with your experience. When I work with clients over time, we develop a strong rapport and a good level of trust so any issues that might arise can be addressed openly and easily. * Yes, my approach frequently departs from mainstream advice, which I have learned can be flawed. People seek me out because I have 23 years in the industry getting results with no fads, no hype. * It isnt possible to research my methods online and that is by design. Everything we do is personalized. And as I said earlier, we dont buy into the hype. We are the only source of information on our training methods because what we do is proprietary. I always explain this in pre-visit phone calls, and it is documented in the materials that every client (including you) signs. We ask that our methods not be shared outside of your personal experience with a trained ATTI staff member. * We never meet with clients until they have agreed to our pricing. We review procedures and fees before meeting with a new or potential client. Visits to clients homes cost more than when clients come to our studio. Assessments cost more than regular appointments. * I apologize that the link to the certifications on our website was broken. It has been fixed. * My initial assessment with you was on a Sunday at 6 a.m. in your home the week of Christmas. I apologize for not being completely responsive to you following that. As I explained at the time, I was heading Up North to be with my family for the holiday and would have limited access to phone and internet service. * After our assessment (a two-hour session for a one-hour fee) I recommended that you train twice a week; you opted for one. I do not assign homework this early on with a new client; you insisted on it. I offered to continue to train you via Skype while you went on vacation; you turned me down. I never gave you a nutrition consultation or a specific eating plan. You had only one training session with me after the assessment before your text messages made it clear to me that you just werent going to be happy. We are and continue to be committed to providing the most effective and positive experience for our clients.
