What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After phone intake I schedule massage and before massage they fill out a quick form and we discuss goals, concerns etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I just completed an advanced course on the basics. I learned some new insight to massage techniques and the benefit of a simple relaxation massage. I am board certified in massage therapy through NCBTMB.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had been getting massage from a therapist for 9 years and I saw how much she loved her work. I decided one day that I was stuck in a job I no longer liked and needed a change.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Most clients are looking for a combination of relaxation and therapeutic massage.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I worked doing corporate massage Quicken Loans. They were very friendly and appreciative of my chair massage services.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure they are licensed and insured, which is now a requirement in Michigan. Ask them about their training. I am board certified which means I took a national standardized test so I come to the field with a standard above most.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
That I went to school for a year focusing on the science of the human body and working on my skills to be able to use a variety of techniques to address common problems that my clients present. I do not just just rub on people. There are good therapists and bad ones. Clients know the difference when they come to me.
