We asked Rory to photograph us at several favorite Twin City locations to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We had an excellent experience working with him. He helped us pick some ideal locations, came up with new ideas that worked really well and he was really good at his job. Matthias was awesome! Literally hours before we needed a photographer I hopped on Thumbtack to see if anyone was available to shoot our band's shopping trip. Matthias responded within an hour and his quote was reasonable. He joined us only a few hours later on our wacky, out-of-the-box, photo shoot. Not only were his pictures great, but his punctuality, good eye, and sense of humor made for an absolutely unforgettable event. Thank you again!

Do not hire. Photos were not near the quality I was expecting (not white balanced, out of focus, etc). Though Markus was very kind a professional leading up to the wedding, he was less so during and after. When I addressed my concerns with the photos, he came up with a lot of excuses and said the edited versions would be better. I waited for those photos and was still disappointed. I could go into more detail, but the moral of the story is I would never recommend this photographer for an event, and I am sad that his photos are the only ones we will have of my aunt's wedding.
Edit: It's disappointing to see the response to this filled with half truths or lies. For example, I was with Markus when the church coordinator told him where he could be and I did not give him contradicting instruction. While his access to the aisle was limited, he could be in there at the beginning and end of the wedding, and move around anywhere else for the rest of the ceremony. He did not move from the one pew.
And while I could give more context or completely rebut Markus' other points, at the end of the day I hired him to provide quality images of my aunts wedding, and I will let the edited photos he provided me speak as justification for my review.

This was the first time I had ever used Thumbtack and truly just threw this event/need out on a whim hoping I would find one person willing to meet us in less than two days, in December, right before Christmas, in the freezing cold.... The response was fantastic! We had 6 folks respond!
I selected Stephie because she seemed to grasp what we were looking for and illustrated in her proposal how she would/could capture the moment. Stephie did not disappoint! We were taking pictures outside and the temps were hovering around 0 - Stephie and her husband never balked or tried to rush the photo shoot, in fact they both seemed oblivious of the cold temps! The turn around time was great, we were provided with a few shots early so that we could share with friends & family the news of the engagement and she was able to turn the balance of the photos around in a very reasonable time frame.
I will definitely recommend Thumbtack and Welcome Love Photography to my friends! Thanks Stephie!
