I heard about Trades Advantage from a neighbor, and I can’t speak highly enough of their whole crew! From the start, their communication was prompt and they were even able to come out same-day to measure and give us a bid on our basement renovation. They are thoughtful about decisions and ideas, and take time to understand what your style and end goal looks like. Allie (owner) and Allen are excellent at brainstorming and coming up with creative solutions to challenging floor plans and layouts, and they always keep your budget in mind. Their work is meticulous, their floor staggering is perfect, and they pay close attention to every detail. We had them install new LVT plank flooring, crown molding, baseboards, wall paneling, drywall, and a custom built-in entertainment center. We also had them replace the brick molding on our garage. It is clear this is a passion for them, not just a job. Their whole team is delightful to work and talk with, and by the end they felt like friends. I will be keeping them on speed dial for future projects! 10/10 would recommend.

Trades Advantage is a woman-owned hardwood flooring installation company in the Twin Cities metro area. Allie is the owner and hands on leader of her team. She came highly recommended by the store where we purchased our hardwood floors, so we interviewed her and were sold on her professionalism and knowledge. It was a dirty job, ripping out 1,200 sf of builder grade engineered floor and carpeting, and then replacing with the thicker and shorter acacia boards. She and her team completed the project on time and on budget and did a fabulous job in the process. They were wonderful to have in our home. Each board was accurately measured, cut, and placed carefully and on purpose, in order to create a flooring that is pleasing to the eye and well laid out. I highly recommend Trades Advantage for hardwood floor installation or repair. Thank you for a job well done, Allie and team!

I loved working with her! She was very responsive to messages and questions. She was more than willing to demonstrate how to help my sister and me how to install the flooring we purchased for the bedrooms upstairs. I believe more than fair pricing for her to come show us, and help us finish the bedroons. The knowledge we are taking away will help us when we need to replace the rest of the floor upstairs too! Will definitely be hiring her for help when we redo the bathroom upstairs as well!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on actual sq ft. Some contractors charge install for the extra 10% of material they don't install. You should only have to pay for the service provided.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Customer service is one of the places where you will see the difference working with us. We'll set up a time to do an in home estimate. We'll listen to your needs and address them and talk you through the process. When we have your estimate ready, we'll call you to go over it so we can answer any questions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I did on the job training for 5 years, learning the details of flooring. Allen our lead installer, previously managed several stores with LL Flooring. Elliot is our current apprentice as we believe apprenticeship is the way to pass on skills to a new generation of craftsmen/women.
