FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If clients choose a coach based only on who is the cheapest, they may get exactly what they paid for. Currently, I'm teaching strictly on Zoom due to Covid. The cost is 55.00 per hour session. I am paid through PayPal. This works well for private clients and those being supported by their workplace. I worked for a number of months, with a doctor from Spain. The hospital where she works sponsored this. Some clients Zoom twice a month rather than weekly, if the cost is too much for their budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin by just chatting so I can get to know them personally and what their goals are. In the process, I'm listening to their speech. I have them read specific sounds, words, and sentences so I can find our starting point. As I'm assessing, I am teaching too. It is a painless, gentle process. Also, most people can tell me what sounds are difficult for them which is helpful.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. and teaching credential from California. I have taught adults for over 30 years. I've taught in many venues both speech and singing and I've been a presenter at Toastmaster's conventions, music teachers conventions.... I've taught teachers and students how to use the International Phonetic Alphabet. Among my ESL clients is The Metropolitan Airport Commission. They hired me to work with foreign-born employees. I've worked with doctors, scientists, engineers and average people. All are welcome!
