FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Nothing standard about flower pricing. Cost fluctuates like the stock market, dependent on geographic climate changes such as volcanoes, hurricanes, drought, disease, like any crop. I try to keep an even scope on prices, and will let you know if what you want will be hard to obtain and pricey, or easy and within budget. I also like to buy from local and/or American growers whenever feasible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I ask many questions to determine personality and preferences, favorite colors, seasons, how you met, and if there is a budget in mind. Typically 12 to 15% of the total wedding expense is for floral and other decor. I can give a guesstimate up front, and a more detailed pricing upon commitment. I like to say your deposit is akin to our being engaged, which lasts until your wedding day! I am a flower geek and can give you options you may not have considered. Plus I'm fun to work with!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Love of floral design began as a child, helping my mom, and blossomed in later years to a career in retail floristry. I opened a design studio in the late 90s, and recently went freelance, working for shops, event companies, and developing a reputation for destination weddings. I have also taught floral design, graduating from several advanced design programs all over the country. To say I'm passionate about my work is a true statement!
