Most typically once a week works best but any frequency is OK. ABOUT MY DRUM LESSONS I really love teaching! (hence the 15+ training books I've written so far). My job makes me grateful. I meet everyone where they're at skill-wise. Once I understand a student's playing ability, I can address each component of their drumming skill to make sure they develop a well-balanced ability to play the drumset. I also prioritize playing with music, because it's really fun AND important. The lessons with my students are always fun and productive! It's nice to have a pro learning facility, with high-end drums and audio, plus all the books / resources we need. I use primarily my own written books, other books from my collection, and any materials the student needs or brings. Or I'll use the whiteboard to write out patterns. My intent with each student is to help them get as far as they can as a drummer, be inspired, be educated, and have as much fun as possible while making progress. Each lesson usually involves helping the student progress from where they are that week - so a lot of it is like coaching, where I'll watch a student play something, and then guide them through a strategic practice to develop their skills a little bit on the spot. That also shows them how to practice it from there, too. Or we'll work through pieces of a song or putting one together quickly. Or we'll focus on technical skills like double strokes, accent control, rudiments etc. I'm also happy to work with all people - any identities / conditions / challenges. No restrictions, I'm just looking for anyone interested in improving their drumming skills. My studio is a judgment-free zone and a positive environment. ABOUT ME I'm well-trained on the drumset (as well as with some hand drums / percussion) and am comfortable teaching most topics, techniques and musical styles, many of them in great depth. I studied jazz, rock, funk, and 'world' drumming styles throughout college and beyond, and have had plenty of experience performing with bands on stages and in recording studios, plus about 25 years experience teaching drums. Academic tutoring has been a favorite side-gig for me throughout my whole adult life, because I have a degree in Physics (nerd alert!) and have always been inclined to share my knowledge. I have focused largely on standardized test prep (ACT, SAT, ASVAB) because I am comfortable teaching in all branches of academia.

Adam is an incredibly awesome person who made math enjoyable for me. He is patient and kind-hearted. I was struggling to prepare for my military entrance exam (ASVAB) and had searched extensively online for tutors. Unfortunately, there were few willing to help someone in my 40s. However, Adam stood out as a gem. Every moment I spent with him as my tutor was filled with invaluable lessons that I will cherish forever.

Wow. My mind was blown by my first lesson with Adam. I have a musical background from high school but always thought the drums were one of the hardest instruments. Having to keep a different tempo with different limbs always blew my mind. But within the first 25 minutes of my lesson Adam had me grooving and filling. Loved it! Highly recommend Adam to everyone. An aside… the studio space Adam has is such a sweet chill vibe.
