About
My name is Heather Hart, and I have a passion for helping students learn. I have a PhD in chemistry and over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I specialize in STEM subjects and have worked with students from pre-K through college.
My tutoring style is flexible, supportive, and neurodivergent-friendly. In addition to course content, I enjoy teaching students how to learn and how to function effectively in school. Every session is customized to the student’s learning style, pace, strengths, and goals.
My favorite subjects include chemistry, physics, middle school science, math through calculus, and executive functioning skills. At the college level I tutor general chemistry and physical chemistry. I also offer test prep for ACT/SAT/GED/GRE as well as AP Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus.
I would love to help you thrive in your studies!
I offer virtual tutoring sessions starting at $60/hour. (Sliding scale available, based a complimentary introduction call.) I offer local in-person tutoring sessions near Minneapolis, MN. See my FAQs for more details.

Heather is very patient and she loves math. I just feel like my brain can't comprehend this new way of learning math. But after 30 years of not being in school. She's helping me find my inner strength of learning the new way of doing math. She's very the greatest.

Heather was a gift to me and my daughter during a very challenging time.
My daughter was in her junior year, taking difficult AP courses, and was especially struggling with her math class. She also needed support with time management and study skills.
When I tried to make suggestions, it only made things worse and affected our relationship.
Heather truly listened to me and then made it clear she would speak to and work with my daughter to come up with a plan that would work for her.
She was calm, caring, and knew all her subject matters. I could tell she was a professional and, more importantly, that she truly cared about young people and wanted them to succeed in all areas of their lives.
I felt happy bringing my daughter to see her each week. I’m so grateful Heather was able to help her to learn, feel good about herself, and thrive. I only wish we had started earlier!
And the best gift for me: I got to simply be my daughter’s mom again.

Heather is incredible. She’s very knowledgeable and understands exactly what I need to succeed. I’ve worked with her on multiple subjects, including college-level physics and executive functioning skills. I definitely plan to continue, and recommend her generally for whatever you are working on.

Heather has been a tremendous asset in helping my son stay on track for his college courses. He has autism and ADHD, and Heather has been working with him not only on his coursework but also on his executive functioning. This year is off to a great start for my son, thanks to Heather.
